  • Software development and life cycle
  • Automation of infrastructure operations and testing
  • Building automation-centric tools with Python, Web Dev, integrating systems through API


  • Understand business needs through requirements analysis and validation and evaluate for automation opportunities
  • Develop services that enable advancement and maturity for SOC service delivery
  • Build solutions to accelerate and optimize processes through system orchestration
  • Provide architectural design assistance and support in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Oversee the integration of products, tools and system activities and serve as technical lead on project assignments.
  • Enforce enterprise level architectural strategies, vision, development, and security standards in projects.
  • Perform high-level system analysis and design.
  • Design, develop or modify applications to meet business requirements.
  • Design solutions with SLA’s in mind enabling high availability and disaster recovery functionality
  • Troubleshooting technical environment issues throughout the development process
  • Incorporate change and configuration management processes
  • Developing technical and soft documentation – operating procedures, guidelines and standards
  • Proactively drives tasks and identifies areas of improvement

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a relevant area of study with a preference for Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Network Engineering
  • Ability to obtain Government of Canada “Secret” security clearance
  • Minimum of 2-4 years in Information Technology and Systems administration
  • Proven analytical, resourceful problem solving and troubleshooting experience with production infrastructure environments
  • Experience in automation development, the development life cycle and change management processes.
  • Experience with Git, database SQL (MS SQL), scripting such as JavaScript, PHP, Python, and general understanding of web development.
  • Ability to monitor metrics and identify improvements and efficiencies.
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management. 
  • Able to prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Good practical experience with: 
    •     Server platforms (GNU/Linux, Windows Server.)
    •     Virtualized infrastructure (VMWare, Hyper-V etc.)
  • Supporting applications running on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience working as part of a team in a fast paced Agile development environment.
  • Database engine troubleshooting and basic administration tasks. 
  • Log aggregation, processing, and visualization systems such as the ELK, and Splunk.
  • Familiarity with Linux and ability to do administrative tasks. 
  • Understanding of containers and container ecosystems such as Docker.
  • Consult with peers for feedback during testing stages.
  • Configuration management using tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Salt.
  • Experienced in coordination between teams in multiple geographies.
  • Strong communication skills

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or understanding of SIEM administration, operation and support 
  • Systems administration, operation and support of enterprise information systems
    • Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS)
    • Windows Server administration (domain services)
  • Experience with System and Network design
  • Experience with system sizing, project planning, and hardware and software deployment
  • Experience administering and maintaining enterprise server platforms
  • Direct prior experience with enterprise security technologies
  • Understanding of enterprise infrastructure and security principles:
    •     Firewalls
    •     IPS/IDS
    •     VPN
    •     VA Scanners
    •     Proxies
    •     Network components
  • Experience working in Information Security and Security Operations Centers
  • Prior experience as a SOC Analyst or systems/network administrator
  • Industry certifications (CISSP/PMP/SANS/GCIA) are strong assets
  • Strong understanding of PCI compliance considered an asset
  • Additional certifications (PMP, RHCSA/RHCE)
  • Prior experience as a system/security administrator
  • Experience working in enterprise operational environments
  • Experience and/or knowledge of security and privacy enhancing technologies such as identity management, application security and network security technologies
