About Nation Building

We are committed to advancing truth and reconciliation by empowering First Nations, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) Nations in their journey toward economic independence and self-governance through our Nation Building advisory practice. Guided by an FNMI-led approach, we act as integrators, facilitators, and trusted advisors, partnering with Indigenous communities, non-Indigenous governments, and corporate Canada to drive meaningful and lasting change.

Our work with Indigenous Nations focuses on identifying opportunities to enhance administrative and business efficiency. By collaborating with leadership, we develop actionable strategies and implement operational plans that align with their long-term vision for success and prosperity.

We also support corporate entities and non-Indigenous governments in understanding their critical role in Nation Building. By creating Reconciliation strategies and Indigenous engagement plans, we foster deeper connections, mutual understanding, and meaningful collaboration with the communities they serve.

What will your typical day look like?

As a Senior Consultant in the Nation Building practice, you will work directly with Managers to support the successful delivery of client projects and contribute to business development opportunities. You will take on a more advanced role in driving project tasks forward, supporting junior team members, and ensuring high-quality outcomes. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Leading components or workstreams of Nation-building projects in areas such as governance, finance, operations, and social services, and supporting the design and implementation of solutions in sectors like health care, education, and child welfare that align with the priorities of Indigenous communities.
  • Conducting in-depth assessments, gathering and analyzing data, and developing actionable recommendations to support areas such as economic development, administration, and Indigenous-led initiatives.
  • Managing the preparation of concise, executive-style reports, presentations, and recommendations that reflect the strategic priorities of Indigenous communities and support effective decision-making.
  • Facilitating client communication, workshops, and working sessions to ensure alignment, build trust, and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Supporting junior team members by providing coaching, reviewing deliverables, and helping to develop their technical and consulting skills.
  • Collaborating with Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution and alignment with client needs, while maintaining high-quality delivery within timelines and budgets.
  • Utilizing advanced technical skills, including PowerPoint for crafting professional presentations and Excel for analyzing and interpreting complex data, to create impactful deliverables.

This position offers the flexibility to work remotely; however, it’s important to note that some travel may be required to fulfill job responsibilities. The extent and frequency of travel will depend on specific project needs and collaboration requirements.
