The National Tax Coordinator works closely with Deloitte Canada’s Global Employer Services (GES) practice and is responsible for strategically coordinating all engagement management activities related to the Engagement. As a key member of the engagement team, the National Tax Coordinator will work closely with the Engagement Senior Manager and Program Management Office Manager to ensure that all GES services are delivered on time and within scope, while effectively managing relationships with the rest of the tax team, firm employees/partners and government authorities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Engagement coordination: Independently planning, administering, and monitoring all administration activities required to drive successful and efficient delivery of GES services
  • Billing: Independently coordinating and executing all billing-related activities, engaging management when required.  Following up on firm tax receivables on a regular basis.
  • Client management: Supporting the Engagement Senior Manager with all client management activities and communications, acting as primary point of contact for the Deloitte Engagement in respect of all non-technical queries
  • Reporting: Independently reporting engagement progress at regular intervals to engagement leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Risk management: Independently monitoring and tracking engagement risks, as well as developing resolution-oriented recommendations to engagement management

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of professional work experience, post degree or diploma
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with stakeholders at all levels (e.g., management, tax team, corporate clients, assignees, government authorities, etc.) with minimal supervision or oversight
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), with the ability to enthusiastically support and collaborate with others at every level of the organization
  • Ability to manage high volumes of work while demonstrating sound judgement to prioritize tasks
  • Proficiency with data management and identifying key data indicators
  • Experience working as part of a team to collectively deliver against requirements
  • Analytical and strategic mind set, with excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrate propensity and passion for continuous learning
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
