The role of the Tax Analyst within the GES practice encompasses a variety of skills and experience levels.  This role builds the foundation of an experienced GES professional, and as such, it is critical that all of the key competencies are met/developed.


As a Tax Analyst, GES you will:


  • Prepare tax returns of all complexity levels.
  • Understand, analyze and research technical issues; and prepares resulting work product, typically a draft memo or draft letter.
  • Develop your technical skills and knowledge of our clients' business;
  • Communicate with and assist clients, providing advice as directed by your Senior Manager;
  • Documents all discussions with Clients or others and follows the Firm’s concurrence (“TQAS”) procedures for those discussions
  • Develop an understanding of the internal accounting system and the billing cycle, while constantly striving to identify and implement ways to improve efficiencies.
  • Perform technical research of taxation issues and assist in the implementation of value-added tax planning strategies.
  • Take the initiative to find relevant and interesting tax ideas for our clients in order to develop the practice;
  • Establish relationships with clients and builds a network of contacts within the firm.

External Posting Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in commerce, business, accounting or tax;
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience;
  • Excellent business communication and presentation skills;
  • Superior ability to communicate orally and in writing, which makes it possible to adapt to different types of clients;
  • Must possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel and Word. 
  • Take professional excellence and excellent customer service very seriously;
  • Able to maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and works effectively as a team;
  • Ability to anticipate the long-term effects of all decisions and take a holistic approach to problem solving;
  • Available to work outside regular working hours during peak periods and to travel occasionally.
