The Talent Reporting & Business Intelligence Analyst will partner with Talent teams, IT and other stakeholders within the organization to build, customize and manage reports & dashboards, providing metrics and underlying data to enable timely business analysis and decision making. The Analyst will also support the day-to-day report request management process and support process improvement & technology upgrade projects impacting Talent Reporting.

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Partner with the rest of the Talent Reporting team to develop and maintain a strong understanding of data scope, business requirements and metrics delivered through the current/ongoing array of reports and dashboards published by the Talent Reporting team.
  • Design, develop, test and publish custom Talent data queries, reports and dashboards (using BI tools-COGNOS and Tableau; Success Factors Analytics, MS Excel and PeopleSoft-Query & Reporting options) to transform existing reports/dashboards or meet new regular & adhoc reporting requirements.
  • Partner with business users within and outside Talent, to:
    • Address reported issues and enhancement requests related to existing reports/dashboards
    • Capture requirements for new dashboards, consult with Talent Reporting team management to evaluate, prioritize and plan for new dashboard/report creation.
  • Collaborate with IT, Talent Reporting and Data Governance teams to develop and maintain strong understanding of: different types of Talent data and related computational nuances, data confidentiality norms and reporting features/capabilities across all source data systems and BI tools.
  • Support Report Request Management process and provide requested data/reports and related clarifications.
  • Support (from Talent Reporting standpoint) upgrades to HR data management systems and reporting/BI tools.
  • Explore and implement technical solutions and related process changes to ensure accuracy and efficiency in Talent report/dashboard creation and management, both via BI tools and MS Excel.
  • Enable cross-learning within the Talent Reporting team and share knowledge on BI tool capabilities and SQL querying best practices.


  • A minimum of 4 years of reporting experience, preferable in HR or Finance.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau and IBM Cognos Analytics.
  • High proficiency in SQL
  • Experience with designing reports and dashboards using OLAP cubes/data packages
  • Advanced Proficiency with MS Excel
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of business users, Talent/HR teams and IT
  • Must be comfortable with learning and using new technology tools
  • Must be analytical with a quantitative mindset
  • Experience with PeopleSoft and SAP Success factors systems would be a huge asset
  • Superior communication skills, & strong client service orientation 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment

Formal Education:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma required (University degree preferred) in Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent
