Are you a senior Public Relations leader looking for an opportunity to help shape and build the media strategy at one of Canada’s top professional firms? Then this role might be for you!

What will your typical day look like?

No two days are ever the same in PR, but typically you will direct and deliver all public relations services with your team in support of marketing campaigns that enhance brand awareness and drive demand for Deloitte’s services. You will also lead and execute campaigns for the Managing Partner and CMO to strengthen Deloitte’s position as a thought leader in Canada. This role is the primary steward for reputational and risk identification, management, and mitigation as it relates to traditional and social media working closely with the firm’s executive leadership team, office of the general counsel and senior partners to develop and deliver any public statements to the media.

About the team

The PR team is part of our in-house Marketing Agency as well as interwoven into the fabric of our executive leadership and partners. With campaign work, the PR team works directly with the marketers on achieving their media goals, as well as providing counsel and oversight to the Canadian media landscape. The marketing team is spread from coast to coast, with PR centres in Toronto and Quebec.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone who is/has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • 10 – 12 years public relations experience, preferably in corporate communications or a marketing environment—preference for those with public sector or professional services environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with extensive experience dealing with senior decision makers both internally and externally, possessing the ability to effectively influence/communicate sensitive issues that align with Deloitte’s business goals.
  • A highly adaptable multi-tasker, detail-oriented self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced environment while still managing multiple priorities 
  • Motivating leader that can effectively engage, lead, and coach a talented team
  • A deep and thorough understanding of the Canadian media landscape, with the established relationships to go with it
  • French language is an asset
