What will your typical day look like?


The Analytic Insights group is seeking a Senior Manager / Manager. This role is critical with respect to embed analytics in the financial advisory services to our clients and growing the market penetration of these services across the country. This individual will play a pivotal role in identifying market opportunities, delivering value-add services to clients, solidifying Deloitte’s position as leader in the Canadian market, as well as fostering an engaging team culture. The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly driven self-starter with the ability to lead by example and bridge the gap between analytics and financial analysis / Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) expertise.

As a Senior Manager / Manager, you will be required to:

•    Collaborate extensively with the broader Financial Advisory, namely M&A, practices across Canada to build relationships & expand the national presence of the practice;
•    Utilize your existing knowledge of analytic/statistical methods and tools to lead the ideation, execution and delivery of financial advisory service offerings, challenge the status-quo for current methods, and drive progression within the business;
•    Lead teams and manage both internal and external stakeholders throughout engagements to ensure smooth and effective delivery of solutions within transaction timelines;
•    Utilize Tableau (or other BI Tools) to build and deliver market leading dashboard solutions as part of the full spectrum of financial advisory, namely M&A,activities. Typical analyses include: historical/forecasted financial trends, business performance drivers, quality of earnings, working capital, cash flow, etc. to communicate business insights to clients;
•    Desire to mentor and train the team on industry best practices with a focus on build a strong team culture. Utilize your experience and attention to detail to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of accurate analysis within required timelines while effectively upskilling colleagues.

About the team

•    Completed undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Business, Statistics, Computer Science or Engineering with outstanding academic credentials. Strong preference given to those with Post Graduate credentials in above or similar fields;
•    Strong financial and business acumen (MBA / CPA / CFA) an asset;
•    4 - 10 years of practical experience delivering data driven solutions (preferred focus on Finance / Commerce), and experience leading teams on data visualization and financial advisory projects;
•    Project management and people management experience is required;
•    Financial Advisory and / or M&A experience considered an asset;
•    Professional services, consulting, or advisory experience is preferred;
•    Experience with statistical modeling techniques, data mining, and predictive models is an asset;
•    Strong experience working with large amounts of data with significant ambiguity, developing creative approaches to analytical problems, and interpreting data and results from a business/industry perspective;
•    Experience using Tableau for reporting is required. Knowledge of other BI Tools such as Power BI, Qlikview, etc. will be considered;
•    Strong knowledge of data manipulation tools such as MS SQL (T-SQL), PowerQuery, R, SAS, or Alteryx is required. Experience and knowledge of other database programming and data manipulation languages such as Oracle, Hadoop, NoSQL Databases, Python, or similar tools will be considered;
•    Ability to cleanse, transform & manipulate client data to facilitate analysis / visualization;
•    Ability to manage, analyze and present findings from large volumes of data;
•    Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions to complex business questions, and communicate this to non-experts or executives;
•    Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams;
•    Strong oral and written communication skills is required.
