The Deloitte M&A Integration & Separation Advisory (‘ISA’) team provides critical advice and support to clients on the operational aspects of corporate transactions, helping them navigate their integration and separation challenges across the M&A deal cycle.  In this role, the M&A ISA team typically works with clients on a range of engagements across the M&A deal lifecycle, including (buy-side, sell-side, other):


• operational and/or technology due-diligence;
• assessment of separation options
• development of Target Operating Models in a transaction setting;
• cost and revenue synergy identification and tracking;
• planning and execution of Day 1 readiness across businesses and within functions, with some subject matter expertise support;
• Day 2 planning and execution;
• system conversion; and
• design and implementation of other transition programs.

About the Role

 

The self-driven Senior Manager with experience in dealing with the operational aspects of a transaction will be responsible for delivering outstanding outcomes for a range of local and international private equity and strategic clients across financial services.

 

As a Senior Manager you will:


DELIVER CLIENT ENGAGEMENTS:


• Lead the client teams of any size on M&A ISA engagement across all dimensions of our commitments – delivery against our brand promise, letter of engagement, quality of service, cost, risk and timeliness;
• Lead these teams in their functional scopes of work and drive the resolution of integration/ separation-related issues on a daily basis;
• Own and lead the content of our engagements – shaping analyses, structuring recommendations, prioritizing effort, executing with excellence and resolving delivery obstacles for the team – leveraging your experience and expertise in having ‘been there/ done that’;
• Develop excellent relationships with senior leaders in the client organization and be responsible for a high degree of client satisfaction with the overall engagement;
• Provide your technical and analytical expertise to guide the client team towards superior decisions based on ‘irrefutable’ facts and logically sound argumentation;
• Apply your excellent project management skills, including governance, reporting, stakeholder management, coaching, problem-solving, and facilitation;
• Assist in identifying and mitigating and/or resolving risks and issues related to integration planning, timelines, and functional areas;

DEVELOP BUSINESS:


• Actively promote M&A ISA capabilities internally and externally of a fast-growing ISA practice within Deloitte;
• Drive business development activities, including identifying and qualifying opportunities, developing winning bid strategies and preparing/ submitting proposal documents;
• Participate in financial services industry events and thought leadership
 

MANAGE THE PRACTICE AND DEVELOP OUR TEAM:


• As a member of the senior management of the ISA practice, assist in managing the practice, lead by example; always professional; build our brand internally and externally
• Actively perform and promote team member and peer-reviews and other quality activities to continuously improve our quality and raise the bar
• Be responsible for fostering an open and inclusive work environment;
• Recruit and develop team members to build the Financial Services practice within Integration and Separation Advisory (ISA)
• Lead/participate in specific practice management activities such as methodology, people and other functions

 

The successful candidates will have the following credentials or attributes:


• Bachelor's degree, CA or MBA preferred;
• 8 to 10 years of related work experience across product, operations, or finance, in a financial services organization;
• Experience in owning and driving the design, execution and delivery of transaction outcomes across the deal life-cycle;
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of integrations, carve-outs, and other types of transaction engagements;
• Solid core consulting skill-set, including hypothesis-based problem solving skills, analytical rigour and discipline and superior structured communication capability (reports, presentations);
• Sound financial and commercial acumen, including the ability to understand business models, financial statements and the ability to use assumptions to facilitate management decisions;
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead teams with limited oversight; strong networking capabilities to support our services internally and externally;
• Strong facilitation skills and the ability to lead clients through the discovery of insights;
• Ability to effectively team and work in a dynamic, start-up environment; willingness to contribute to the development of internal processes and procedures;
• Flexibility and adaptability regarding work assignments, including willingness to learn new skills, subject matter areas and industries and willingness and ability to travel
