Deloitte’s Capital Efficiency (CE) team offers its clients cross-functional advisory services when deadlines are often urgent. We help solve our client’s complex capital allocation challenges, whether they be in thriving or distressed business transformation situations.

The CE team works across several industries mostly in Energy and Natural Resources, Industrials, Consumer and Pharmaceutical. 

We focus on:

·        Capital Allocation: This service assesses strategic alternatives for organizations and helps client’s allocate capital towards the most value-maximizing activities for long-term growth. This group synthesizes vast amounts of information into data-driven insights to assess the risks, benefits, and tradeoffs of different investment alternatives in order to support optimal business decisions.

·        Capital Structure: This service enhances our clients' ability to achieve sustainable and resilient ratings by providing objective, practical and independent advice.  The team also provides stakeholders with critical insights around the viability of a proposed transaction as it evaluates the impact of the transaction on a company’s capital structure. 

·        Investor Relations (IR): Our IR Service improves our clients' ability to achieve long-term sustainable value by streamlining processes, developing systems and reports to effectively and efficiently deliver insights for analyst calls.

Role Description

As a Senior Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to work across the full range of CE services at times, although we expect that you will primarily focus on delivering one of the three services based on your skills and experience. Whatever your role, you will have three broad responsibilities:

Client Engagements

·        Quickly develop an understanding of the business and its drivers, interpret and analyze information memoranda, business plans, publicly available information on the business

·        Lead teams and project manage multiple engagements / priorities as you lead teams of approximately 2-5 professionals in the delivery of both client engagements and internal practice/firm initiatives;

·        Confidently present to management and boards key findings from work and be able to explain complex topics;

Business Development

·        Work directly with the Partner group to identify and qualify new business opportunities, structure proposal responses and close the sale to help achieve overall VCS team revenue objectives;

·        Build and work internal and external professional networks to open new channels to serve our clients’ needs.

People Development and Practice Management

·        Participate in the development and delivery of Deloitte’s training programs and services;

·        Support the management and development of the Capital Efficiency practice, including coaching and mentoring other practitioners, while promoting a diverse and inclusive work environment aligned with Deloitte’s values;

Posting Qualifications

Completion of an undergraduate degree with outstanding academic credentials;

Preference will be given to candidates with a professional designation CPA, MBA, CFA or other related designation;

7+ years of applicable experience;

Proven core consulting skills, including hypothesis-based problem solving, analytical rigor and discipline and superior structured communication capability (reports, PPT presentations and other deliverables);

Expert market, financial and commercial acumen, including both a breadth and depth in working with and understanding financial and commercial information to provide analysis and data-driven insights to clients;

Experienced with project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, managing client expectations, project profitability and team leadership;

Experienced in business development and building a practice;

Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions

Proven analytical, modelling skills and systematic problem solving;

An accomplished facilitator with the ability to lead clients through the discovery of insights to solution development and execution;

Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence;

Superior verbal and written communication skills;

Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management;

Canadian travel required, occasional international travel. Candidates must be able to enter the USA to work on client assignments.
