What will your typical day look like?


As a Senior Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to work across the full range of BMG services, we expect you will primarily focus on three broad responsibilities:

Client Engagements
•    Quickly develop an understanding of the business and its drivers, interpret and analyze information memoranda, business plans, publicly available information on the business
•    Use your and the firm’s broader technical and industry expertise to plan and execute client engagements;
•    Lead teams and project manage multiple engagements / priorities as you lead teams of approximately 2-5 professionals in the delivery of both client engagements and internal practice/firm initiatives;
•    Build relationships, and work collaboratively, with colleagues from other Deloitte Canada service lines and/or other Deloitte member firms internationally, to augment the solutions that BMG offers to its clients;
•    Cultivate strong relationships with senior clients and help to drive a high degree of client satisfaction on engagements;
•    Confidently present to management and boards key findings from work and be able to explain complex topics;
•    Reporting of potential key issues for our clients including identification of risk or price factors impacting investment decisions;

Business Development
•    Work directly with the Partner group to identify and qualify new business opportunities, structure proposal responses and close the sale to help achieve overall BMG team revenue objectives;
•    Build and work internal and external professional networks to open new channels to serve our clients’ needs.

People Development and Practice Management
•    Participate in the development and delivery of Deloitte’s training programs and services;
•    Support the management and development of the BMG practice, including coaching and mentoring other practitioners, while promoting a diverse and inclusive work environment aligned with Deloitte’s values;
•    Actively mentor and coach team members to their highest potential
•    Create a learning environment through leadership;
•    Develop junior team members’ technical skills (modeling, analytical, credit etc.) and soft skills (presentation, written contributions, client management etc.).

About the team


Deloitte’s Business Modeling Group (BMG) team offers its clients cross-functional advisory services in a fast-paced environment with direct client interaction. You will be leading practitioners in the business modelling field, you will share your skills with others in business modelling services.  We help solve our client’s complex challenges, whether they be in thriving or distressed business transformation situations. 

The BMG team works across several industries and focuses on building and reviewing primarily excel based models to support our clients in decision making. Our services are required for various purposes including:

•    Corporate Planning
•    Benefits Realization
•    Business Case Development
•    Capital Allocation
•    Capital Structure

Successful candidates will generally have the following qualifications:

•    Completion of an undergraduate degree with outstanding academic credentials;
•    Preference will be given to candidates with a professional designation CPA, MBA, CFA or other related designation;
•    7+ years of applicable experience;
•    Proven core consulting skills, including hypothesis-based problem solving, analytical rigor and discipline and superior structured communication capability (reports, PPT presentations and other deliverables);
•    Expert market, financial and commercial acumen, including both a breadth and depth in working with and understanding financial and commercial information to provide analysis and data-driven insights to clients;
•    Experienced with project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, managing client expectations, project profitability and team leadership;
•    Experienced in business development and building a practice;
•    Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
•    Proven analytical, modelling skills and systematic problem solving;
•    An accomplished facilitator with the ability to lead clients through the discovery of insights to solution development and execution;
•    Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence;
•    Superior verbal and written communication skills;
•    Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management;
•    Canadian travel required, occasional international travel. Candidates must be able to enter the USA to work on client assignments.

Flexibility and adaptability on work assignments, including a willingness and ability to learn new skills, subject matter, and industries.
