What will your typical day look like?<p>&nbsp;</p>

The M&A Senior Consultant is an integral part of the project team, delivering on our clients’ initiatives throughout the M&A lifecycle. Consultants are required to interact on a daily basis with our clients across a range of different activities, including data analysis, assessment of current and target states, roadmap development, and program management. Senior Consultants will have the opportunity to manage increasing portions of project delivery, eventually leading junior practitioners within the team.

Senior Consultants will have multiple other responsibilities, and are expected to contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways:

  • Engagement management: Support team leaders with engagement planning and scoping; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels; deliver on-time, high-quality engagement work products
  • Stakeholder management: Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients; participate in business development activities; be an active member of pursuit teams while supporting proposal content development
  • Practice development and eminence: Support the creation of practical solutions and methodologies; develop "thoughtware" and "point of view" documents; support industry and eminence events sponsored by the firm

Deloitte’s M&A Consulting practice delivers comprehensive consulting services and comprises Strategy, Operations, Finance, Human Capital, and Technology experts. Our practitioners are involved in all phases of the M&A lifecycle, including strategy, due diligence, operational readiness, pre- and post-close integration/separation planning and execution, and follow-on transformation.

As one of the most complex events in a company’s lifecycle, an M&A event demands meticulous planning and execution. Deloitte offers a range of technology services such as IT program management, requirements gathering, solution design, data migration/conversion, application rationalization, infrastructure/cloud integration/migration, and contract/vendor management.

As a Senior Consultant, M&A Consulting, Technology, you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree with 3+ years (or a master’s degree with 1+ year) of relevant experience in a similar role in consulting or industry
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CPA, CRISC, MBA, PMP, ITIL, TOGAF and/or other professional designations
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, supported by a fluency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, and the ability to create and manage financial models
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous and changing requirements
  • The ability to articulate leading business issues and trends
  • A willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time
  • Experience working in the following industries:
    • Financial services
    • Energy, resources, and industrials
    • Technology, media, and telecommunications
    • Airlines, transportation, and aerospace
    • Consumer

Experience in

  • One or more large M&A or transformation projects, with good experience and knowledge of:
    • IT synergies / cost reduction
    • Target operating/business model design and implementation
    • IT infrastructure & networks
    • Enterprise architecture
    • Data centers
    • Application integration/separation/rationalization
    • IT synergies/cost reduction
    • ERP, CRM, finance, and HRIS systems
    • End user computing
    • ITIL based operations & platforms
    • Cyber & IT risk
    • IT vendor management
    • Organization design and transition
    • Communications and change management
  • Identifying key client business issues, determining client needs, evaluating and validating analyses, and developing recommendations and high-quality deliverables
  • Guiding clients on key concepts and strategies for M&A engagements including, but not limited to, stranded cost analyses, demanding timelines, business continuity during transformation, and synergy identification and capture
  • Developing materials for, and supporting, large cross-functional workshops on the planning and implementation of integration and separation projects
  • Developing and presenting proposals for business development activities
