What will your typical day look like?


You will understand business objectives and processes; elicit, analyze and document requirements; and translate them into functional specs for a solution that will meet the needs of business. You will use proven knowledge of BA standards and best practices while executing BA activities and deliverables. You will have a sense of ownership for the project, end solution, and balance business needs and technology capabilities to deliver the most optimal end solution possible. You will operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional team members.  

Role Specific Responsibilities:

  • Understand business strategy, objectives and processes that will be enabled and/or enhanced by technology solution
  • Meet with requirements stakeholders (decision makers, systems owners, and/or end users) to elicit, analyze and document functional and non-functional requirements
  • Own and deliver BA artifacts including requirements documents, current and future state process flows, data flow diagrams, source-to-target mappings and/or other documents based on the need of the project
  • Conduct data analysis to validate business processes and guide requirements accordingly
  • Proactively identify and address conflicting requirements and/or gap(s) between requirements and technology capabilities
  • Proactively identify and address impacted business processes and/or operational activities by engaging the necessary stakeholders 
  • Collaborate with developers, architects and QA to ensure a common understanding of the requirements
  • Work in Agile project implementation
  • Translate the requirements into functional specs that can be leveraged by developers and QA team members for their respective deliverables 
  • Work with QA team members to develop test strategy and plan, and review test cases, test scripts and test suites to ensure optimum coverage of requirements to deliver a high-quality solution
  • Provide regular updates on project status, including raising risks, issues and impediments in a timely manner
  • Respond proactively to both business and project issues; take ownership of risks, issues and impediments as appropriate to resolve them in a timely manner
  • Manage relationship with project stakeholders – both business and technology; be the trusted advisor

About the team


The Artificial Intelligence (AI) CoE team in Solutions Delivery group within Deloitte’s ITS (Information Technology Services) is looking for an experienced Business Analyst Consultant.  AI CoE focuses on delivering solutions that have predictive, cognitive or other AI component to deliver value.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

 

  • 7+ years of experience in business analyst role/capacity with at least 5 years of experience in data-centric projects.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of BA methodologies and best practices 
  • Proficiency in SQL and conducting data analysis, data profiling, etc.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and data science/data engineering/reporting tools considered an asset.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools like Tableau/Power BI is considered an asset.
  • Detail oriented with passion for technical quality and strong commitment to professional client service excellence
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various SLDC project development methodologies
  • Ability to build strong client and peer relationships while working in a team environment
  • Successful delivery utilizing offshore capabilities 
  • Strong organization skills in fast paced, multiple stakeholder matrix organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • University degree or equivalent work experience
