Deloitte’s Future of Canada Centre (FCC) is looking for a research analyst to join our team. The FCC is Deloitte’s thought leadership and public policy hub, with three primary responsibilities:

  • The Centre performs original research and publishes reports, articles, and papers that provide insights for businesses, governments, and academia on a broad spectrum of topics of interest to our firm, our clients, and our country. 
  • In addition to producing thought leadership, the Centre is an eminence development hub through which all thought leadership produced by Deloitte in Canada is evaluated to ensure the quality and strategic alignment of the firm’s publications. 
  • The Centre also coordinates public policy activities across the firm as well as the development of policy positions on priority issues for our firm, our clients, and our country. 
     

As a Research Analyst you will help research and develop cross-sectoral thought leadership for the firm, including research under the firm’s flagship Canada at 175 initiative (www.Canada175.ca). Responsibilities would include: 

  • Monitor issues relevant to a specified theme on an ongoing basis, including industry & government developments both in Canada and globally.
  • Assist in conducting quantitative and qualitative research, using a variety of methodologies and data sources, and support the development of high profile thought leadership pieces.
  • Support the creation of graphs, outlines and drafts of research findings.
  • Support the development of internal and external materials related to research insights, including, presentations, articles, and speeches.
  • Support and deliver on ad-hoc research and analysis requests as required.

 

Qualifications 

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in economics, business, or another relevant field
  • An exemplary record of academic and extracurricular achievement
  • Proven superior research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, especially quantitative skills
  • Highly organized and detail-focused, able to synthesize information in a clear and concise way
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team player
  • Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment with competing deadlines and rapidly evolving needs and conditions
  • High technical proficiency in MS Office applications; specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word (proficiency using statistical and data visualization tools an asset)  
  • Demonstrated interest in public policy an asset
  • French language skills an asset
