Deloitte’s Future of Canada Centre is looking for an undergraduate research analyst (fall intern) to join our team. The Future of Canada Centre is Deloitte’s thought leadership and public policy program, with three primary streams of work:


• The Centre performs original research and publishes reports, articles, and papers that provide insights for businesses, governments, and academia on a broad spectrum of topics of interest to our firm, our clients, and our country.
• In addition to producing thought leadership, the Centre is an eminence development hub through which all thought leadership produced by Deloitte in Canada is evaluated to ensure the quality and strategic alignment of the firm’s publications.
• The Centre also coordinates public policy activities across the firm as well as the development of policy positions on priority issues for our firm, our clients and our country.

 

Role Description:


As a Research Analyst (Intern) will work with the research team to help develop and deliver large-scale, cross-sectoral thought leadership for the firm, including research under the Canada at 175 initiative (www.Canada175.ca). Responsibilities will include:


• Assist in conducting quantitative and qualitative research, using a variety of methodologies and data sources, and support the development process high profile thought leadership pieces
• Support the day-to-day research activities as part of a research team that includes practitioners from our consulting practice
• Support the creation of internal and external collateral related to research findings and contribute to developing a narrative that supports preliminary drafts of all research reports
• Supporting the coordination of key meetings for the Future of Canada Centre and related practitioners, including logistics and meeting materials
• Supporting and delivering on ad-hoc research and analysis requests as required

 

Qualifications:


• Working towards completion of undergraduate degree, preferably in economics, business, political science, or public policy
• An exemplary record of achievement in school both academically and in extracurricular activities
• Proven superior research, analytical, and problem-solving skills (quantitative research skills are considered an asset)
• Highly organized and detail-focused, able to synthesize information in a clear and concise way
• Strong verbal and written communicator
• Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal skills and a team player
• Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment with competing deadlines and rapidly evolving needs and conditions
• Strong technical proficiency in MS Office applications; specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word
