What will your typical day look like?

The Quality & Risk Specialist, Audit Client & Engagement Data Governance (ACE) will be responsible for ensuring the quality of audit client and engagement acceptances and that they are properly documented and monitored in our databases. The role will involve communicating with engagement teams, audit partners and National leaders to clarify facts and circumstances and to confirm appropriate approvals are obtained in accordance with our policies. The role will involve conducting research on clients using various internal and external sources (i.e. CRM, Sedar, Edgar, Audit Analytics, etc.). Additionally, the specialist will oversee the other coordinators’ CRM reviews and APDB entries and will assist in the preparation and distribution of periodic and ad-hoc reports. This role will also involve various other activities to support the Quality & Risk Group on a project basis or as needed.

About the team

Under Deloitte's Risk Management Program, we will only accept and retain A&A Clients and Engagements with an acceptable level of risk.
It also ensures that professionals with the appropriate skills, experience and expertise are matched with the risk associated with A&A Clients and Engagements. A CAEA (Client Acceptance Engagement Acceptance) is our tool to document regulatory and business risk decisions in accepting a client and engagement; if not done correctly and at the proper time, this could put the firm at risk. The Audit Client and Engagement (ACE) data governance team is charged with ensuring that each CAEA meets the requirements, including the appropriate documentation, checks and approvals depending on the scenario. Once approved, the ACE team enters the CAEA information in our Audit Public Database (APDB) and monitors the information to ensure data accuracy in the APDB reports distributed to various key stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and validating client and engagement acceptances and continuances in CRM 
  • Updating the records in the Audit Public Database in a timely manner
  • Reviewing records in the Audit Public Database and maintaining its accuracy through daily data entry
  • Overseeing the workload distribution to ensure timely CAEA processing
  • Assisting audit practitioners to complete their forms when required
  • Being available to the team and team lead to provide support as required
  • Ensuring timely communication to PPD, Audit DO, National Risk Management and the Engagement teams
  • Creating and modifying reports using Audit Public Database
  • Maintaining and retaining files according to Deloitte policies
  • Communicating with engagement teams to confirm facts and circumstances
  • Assisting with regulatory reporting to various stakeholders, including collecting the information from the engagement team and coordinating with other National groups

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

  • A completed University degree (preferably in Business Administration) 
  • 3-4 years of relevant work experience in Finance, Audit, or a relevant field 
  • Exposure to auditing standards and accounting principles (i.e IFRS, US GAAP, ASPE, AICPA, CAS, PCAOB)
  • Advanced IT skills in MS Office (SharePoint, Access, Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Extremely high attention to detail
  • CRM database and records management experience is an asset
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams
  • A dedication to teamwork and leadership
  • Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English
  • Proven ability to sustain a high level of drive enthusiasm, and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work.
  • Capacity for working hard to meet demands at key times of pressure; resilient in the face of challenges or obstacles.
  • Ability to prioritize/multitask and to work independently
  • Commitment to quality, ethics, and confidentiality
