What will your typical day look like?


Reporting to the Senior Manager for Payments Risk, Cyber Risk Services, this manager is self-motivated, energetic, driven for success and results oriented. Your strong leadership skills and ability to coach and mentor, enable you to provide learning and growth opportunities for members of your team. Your knowledge of Payments Risk/Fraud Management, professional services and the firm will help you to support delivery and execution of services offered by Deloitte.  The manager will also be a key player and part of a team providing world-class Payments Risk/Fraud Management capability assessments, implementations and operations advisory for our clients. Day to day, the manager will work out of the local Deloitte headquarters, however, occasional travel to clients may be required and there are also potential occasional opportunities for travel nationally and globally.

Payments Risk is one of the core focus areas of Deloitte’s Risk Advisory group with a significant practice in Canada. We have one of the largest, most focused and successful global payments teams in the industry – we are a recognized leader in the Payments space. Our clients span large Canadian banks, the payment networks and FinTech players – from retail, business, and wholesale banking. We advise senior executives on managing risks affecting payments platforms and products. Our end-to-end services cover the range of technology challenges, from defining payments risk/fraud management strategy, evaluating technology architecture to measuring and supporting our clients through strategy to execution. We help clients align their business and risk strategy, achieve their business objectives and transform their payments fraud management capabilities to deliver value to their customers.

We are looking for candidates that have a strong background in retail, corporate and wholesale payments with experience in payments risk management, including customer authentication, transaction fraud monitoring architecture, interfaces to third party fraud intelligence services. A successful candidate will also have knowledge of the broad payments landscape, ecosystem participants, domestic and global payment trends, and emerging payment technologies.

You are someone with:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a relevant area of study with a preference for in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems
  • At least 5 years real world experience in payments technology
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience, leading a team
  • Ability to present to executives and communicate with technical management team
  • Strong background in retail, corporate and wholesale payments and knowledge of the broad payments landscape, ecosystem participants, domestic and global payment trends, and emerging payment technologies
  • Experience in payments risk management, including customer authentication, transaction fraud monitoring architecture, and interfaces to third party cyber fraud intelligence services
