Role Description

Managerial Design™ is a service line in the Human Capital Consulting group. We use a facilitated approach to help our clients solve their most complex issues; working in partnership with leaders and their teams to improve results. We do not propose solutions and write reports; we partner with our clients to develop solutions with commitment and buy-in from those closest to the work, and to improve the effectiveness of their organization.

As a Manager on the Managerial Design™ core team, you will play a key role in delivering fast-paced projects, working closely with the Managerial Design™ team and in close interaction with core members of the client team. You will play a pivotal role on the project team with responsibilities that range from facilitating client meetings, contributing to process and meeting design, supporting clients in their management processes, and participating in the preparation of sales presentations for our clients.

You will have the opportunity to participate and lead in the design and implementation of organization effectiveness programs using Managerial Design™ proprietary products to assist clients in:

  • Strategic clarification: Clarifying their strategy and helping to ensure commitment and buy-in across the organization
  • Strategy deployment (organization alignment): Aligning the organization behind the strategy, focusing on delivering the right things necessary for the organization to be successful
  • Managing for results: Developing and implementing systems to integrate performance management into business planning efforts
  • Performance improvement: Helping the organization find ways to run their business better, faster and more cost effectively
  • Design, organize and facilitate team meetings as part of the change process
  • Provide feedback to senior executives about effectiveness and business issues

Role Qualifications

Ideal candidates demonstrate an interest in facilitation, organization effectiveness and the growing world of human capital, and have the following skills and qualifications:

  • MBA
  • At least 5 years relevant work experience
  • Strong business acumen with solid analytical skills and conceptual thinking - ability to synthesize information and present it back in an articulated fashion
  • Demonstrate experience and interest in facilitation
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong priority management and organization skills
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence with the ability to build solid relationships
  • Passionate and courageous, highly motivated, high energy, lots of stamina
  • Situational sensitivity and self-awareness - a chameleon – able to fit into any environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - work effectively in teams
  • Demonstrated initiative, results orientation and leadership ability - know what must get done and how to make it happen
  • Ability to work in a demanding and fast paced environment with pressing deadlines and constantly changing priorities; can multi-task, juggle multiple projects and think on your feet
  • Intellectual horsepower but with your ego in check
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • French and Spanish are an asset at the Toronto office

You will work on several client projects concurrently and have a high level of interaction with your clients. There is a great deal of travel involved; long hours and weekend work is required.

Work eligibility:

  • Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada
  • The ability to enter the USA, the EU, and other countries and work on client assignments is an asset
