What will your typical day look like?

 

Reporting to the National Partner for Data and Privacy – Cyber Risk Services, you will lead a team of problem solvers, helping to tackle our clients’ complex business issues from strategy to execution. Effectively, you will collaborate with our team of national Data Risk specialists, as well as cross-functional cyber/data transformation teams and our global network of experts to design and implement business and technology solutions addressing our clients’ data/information risk challenges. 
You will manage teams through large and complex engagements, develop your entrepreneurial drive by contributing to new services/solutions development and whitespace opportunities, and be exposed to unique opportunities to expand your personal brand and continue to be recognized in the industry as a trusted advisor and a thought leader in the data/information risk space.

Furthermore, you will also shape, develop and inspire the next generation of data/information risk leaders as they grow by working on your projects.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

 

You are someone with:
•    A thorough understanding and experience leading in the fields of data/information management and data governance and, importantly, a continuing interest in the evolving fields of privacy, information security and data/information risk
•    At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in assessing, designing and implementing data risk management solutions, which may include:
      o    data/information strategy / governance
      o    data classification and data stewardship management (roles and responsibilities)
      o    data lineage
      o    data value management and reporting
      o    data/information architecture
      o    data ethics, data use and transparency
      o    implementation of controls related to information security best practices standards (ISO, NIST, COBIT)
      o    compliance with privacy regulatory frameworks and applicable legislation (e.g., CSA and GAPP, PIPEDA, GDPR, OSFI related data governance and management guidelines)
      o    knowledge of data governance and records management standards and frameworks such as EDM Council – DCAM, Data Governance Institute, ARMA and ISO
•    Demonstrated experience in creating, delivering and managing data governance program to ensure high levels of data quality, integrity, availability, accuracy, completeness, consistency and privacy
•    Proven experience designing and evaluating risk-based internal control programs, analyzing situations, and make value-added and practical recommendations
•    Knowledge of current and emerging data protection tools and methodologies, specifically DLP tools such as McAfee DLP, Forcepoint, Microsoft O365 DLP, Varonis, BigID, OneTrust etc.
•    Knowledge of current data governance, document/ records management tools such as Collibra, Informatica, OpenText, SharePoint, SAS, etc.
•    Minimum of 2 years of management experience, leading a team and driving growth objectives
•    Strong project management skills, with the ability to achieve both internal and external deadlines, and prior experience managing multiple streams of work concurrently
•    Strong communication skills (written and oral), with the ability to clearly present and translate complex technical issues into business terms and conceptualize new approaches/solutions to manage data/information risks
•    Undergraduate degree required, preferably in Technology / Data Science / Information Management / business or related discipline; post graduate degree is a plus
•    Certification in technical information security, IT, data/information management or privacy disciplines such as CISM, CISSP, CRISC, CIPP, CRM, CDP, DGSP and other industry designations (highly desirable).
