What will your typical day look like?

Reporting to the National Partner for Data Protection & Privacy – Cyber Risk Services, you will lead a team of problem solvers, helping to tackle our clients’ complex business issues from strategy to execution. Effectively, you will collaborate with our Canadian Data Protection & Privacy specialists, as well as cross-functional cyber teams and our global network of experts to design, implement and manage privacy programs that meet and exceed the requirements of best practice, ethical operations, and regulation.  
You will manage teams through large and complex engagements, develop your entrepreneurial drive by contributing to new service/solutions identification and whitespace opportunities, and be exposed to unique opportunities to expand your personal brand and be recognized in the industry as a trusted advisor and a thought leader in the data privacy space.

Furthermore, you will also shape and develop the next generation of privacy talent and inspire other top talents to join Deloitte because they want to work on your projects.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone with:
•    Thorough understanding of information privacy principles and current privacy trends combined with an interest in discovering and understanding new and emerging privacy and data risk issues
•    At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in designing, implementing and managing data privacy programs to address privacy risks, and application of regulatory requirements within an operational context
•    Minimum of 2 years of management experience, leading a team (including coaching and mentoring team members)
•    Well-versed with Canadian (federal and provincial) privacy laws and knowledge of international privacy laws and trends
•    Proficient understanding of privacy risks and controls in emerging technologies 
•    Demonstrated capability of designing privacy management target operating models
•    Demonstrated capability of educating clients/business on new data, privacy, and ethical uses, and providing strategies and solutions to address privacy considerations
•    Ability to build a strong perspective and subject matter expertise on industry privacy trends and translate into perspectives pertinent to client requirements
•    Experience in delivering privacy trainings and presentations 
•    Ability to present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches/solutions to manage privacy and data risks
•    Knowledge of and experience with current and emerging data discovery and privacy management tools and methodologies (e.g., Varonis, BigID, OneTrust, TrustArc) 
•    Strong project management skills
•    Demonstrated ability to manage client engagements and supervise staff
•    Certification in privacy disciplines such as CIPP, CIPM, CIPT (highly desirable)
