The Data Platform Management team is responsible for delivering world-class, highly resilient, secure and scalable database technology solutions.  The team is responsible for the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of various database technologies (e.g.  Microsoft SQL Server, DB2, Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB).

As a manager of the DPM team, you will be accountable for providing technical guidance and management for the team.  Deliver effectively on projects and ensure operational stability of our systems.

Position Requirements

  •  Partner with development and operational teams to bring continuous improvements to our technology operating model
  •  Provide technical guidance on how to resolve issues and practical solutions that will move project and day-to-day operational duties forward in a timely manner
  •  Develop and own KPIs to ensure performance is measured against expected business outcomes
  •  Protect client data by enforcing database security controls using delivered capabilities or technologies (e.g. Database Role, TDE, and Guardium) that adhere to SOC II, PCI and ISO 270001 policies
  •  Engage and build relationships with development and operational teams
  •   Lead the team in handling escalated and complex project issues
  •  Help shape processes that will increase project and operational efficiencies
  •  Mentor and coach team members
  •  Manage a multi-location team
  •  Drive database standardization and automation
  •  Drive heightened data security by developing policies, procedures and controls
  •  Enforce, produce and maintain accurate documentation and operational reports
  •  Work with the team to troubleshoot data-related problems, find root-causes, implement solutions, and contribute to incident reports
  •  Deliver solutions through innovation, technology, and process that will improve our operational efficiency


  •  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field, with minimum 7 year’s related experience as a database manager in 24X7 uptime environment
  •  Creative thinker and innovator
  •  Self-confident, outgoing and able to communicate effectively
  •  Understanding of agile software development methodology and industry best practices
  •  Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  •  Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
  •  Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to negotiate and influence others
  •  Experience with High Availability technologies such as Clustering, Database Mirroring, Replication, Log shipping, Always On etc.
  •  Familiarity with Windows and Linux Operating Systems
  •  Experience with big data processing tools
  •  Production experience in large-scale NoSQL data infrastructures such as MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.
  •  Production experience with SQL databases such as DB2, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, SQLite, Amazon RDS, etc.
  •  Experience creating automation for database deployment, update, backup, recovery, testing, and maintenance
  •  Knowledge of DevSecOps
  •  Experience working in an agile development team which requires the database design and architecture to adapt to changing business needs
  •  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable in a transactional high-volume, high availability production environment.
  •  Ability to build solid relationships with team members and co-workers, possessing the desire to work in a team environment and provide benefit to the team as a whole
  •  Possess strong communication and presentation skills, including both written and verbal.
  •  Strong customer service skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent client requests.
  •  Desire to grow and develop new skillsets, becoming involved with new technologies
  •   ITIL certified
