Our Cyber Risk Insurance practice is growing, and we are seeking a new Manager to join our talented team!

What will your typical day look like?

As a Manager, you will combine your expertise in cyber security within the insurance sector to join a thriving insurance practice with transformational growth opportunities. You will lead, manage, and coach a diverse group of top talent people to deliver leading edge client projects within an inclusive environment, and you will deliver project activities focused on cyber security priorities within the insurance sector, such as digital transformation. 

Some of your key role activities will include:

  • Client project delivery
  • Client relationship management & stakeholder alignment
  • Team leadership
  • Problem analysis & solution design, development, implementation
  • Executive communications
  • Financial management


Lastly, your ability to critically think through client problems andconfident communication style will enable you to share insights on business challenges and cultivate client relationships, using your experience to help our clients to define and deploy programs in their complex organizations.

About the team

With the digital move, insurance companies become more susceptible to cyber risks, as mentioned previously. To stay ahead, understand the risks and minimize the possible impacts that a cyberattack could cause, it’s crucial to have a robust cybersecurity strategy, governance and program in place.

Deloitte’s Cyber Risk Services helps our Insurance clients be Secure, Vigilant and Resilient in the face of an ever-increasing array of cyber threats and vulnerabilities. 

  • Secure: Having risk prioritized controls to defend critical assets and emerging threats
  • Vigilant: Having threat intelligence and situational awareness to anticipate and identify harmful behaviour
  • Resilient: Being prepared and having the ability to recover from cyber incidents and minimize their impact


Our Cyber Risk practice helps our Insurance clients manage information and technology risks by delivering end-to-end solutions using proven methodologies and tools. Our services help our clients address timely and pervasive issues such as identity theft, data security breaches, data leakage, cybersecurity, and system outages across organizations of various sizes and industries, to enable ongoing, secure, and reliable operations across the enterprise.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone with:

  • 5+ years of experience in insurance or management consulting 
  • A Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or Information Security or relevant experience in these domains; or
  • An underwriting designation, claims designation
  • Experience in policy administration, underwriting or claims handling processes, fraud management
  • A good understanding of basic networking concepts/principles (routing, switching, IP addressing) and common IT services/protocols is important
  • Knowledge of foundational systems security principles is important
  • Working knowledge of general IT and business processes and controls
  • The following are assets:
    • Experience in application development and knowledge of main programming languages, hacking or network security, and performing eForensics, investigations or incident management
    • Experience with Guidewire or GW Cloud
    • Experience participating in a claims or underwriting transformation program 
    • Experience with risks and controls
    • Experience with digital insurance capabilities
