No relocation is required or offered. This role supports a global initiative, which can be performed virtually, and as such candidates can be based in several locations across our network.




What will your typical day look like?


The Manager role manages multiple workstreams and executes innovation activities that drive the delivery of our Tax & Legal (T&L) and Digital strategy, including the day-to-day management of the Innovation program. Key activities involve identifying core, adjacent, and new products or services that will grow our global business, acting as an innovation liaison for countries and Global Service Lines (GSLs), accelerating ideation and design-led innovation across the network, improving knowledge-sharing and cross-network collaboration, and developing varied Innovation collateral for network consumption. The individual will also lead and conduct research and analysis on emerging trends and establish analytical frameworks, develop a deep understanding of the senior tax leadership agenda, corresponding challenges and how Deloitte addresses them. The Manager will establish relationships with senior partners and firm leadership, including Country and Service Line Innovation leaders, T&L management, and cross-business Innovation leadership and teams.

Deloitte’s Global T&L Innovation Program Manager [maternity leave cover] works directly with the Senior Manager responsible for driving the T&L Innovation program and support the Managing Director for Innovation in implementing related workstreams in our strategy.

In this role, you’ll use your skills and experience to: 

  • Work to execute Innovation strategic priorities and initiatives, including Market Insight & Sensing, Ecosystem, Ideation, Experimentation, and Scale.
  • Support the advancement of our T&L sensing strategy and program by collaborating with Marketing on building relevant and timely collateral with innovation leaders, specialists and the cross-business sensing program.
  • Manage regular T&L sensing content by conducting regular review of new content sources and curation of relevant topics for review, facilitating and/or executing analysis, including research, authoring of content, and publication, gathering input from subject matter experts and incorporating as needed, publishing outputs to target audiences through appropriate channels.
  • Assist in the development and management of our T&L Ecosystem & Alliances (E&A) strategy, supporting GT&L E&A Leadership, in alignment with the cross-business Global Innovation program and priorities.
  • Actively manage and monitor the T&L Global Watchlist for global asset commercialization, leveraging the community of T&L innovation SMEs to feed into the global pipeline and portfolio.
  • Coach asset teams and be a champion for the use of design and lean methodology software to accelerate and scale innovation with the organization.
  • Facilitate the sharing of ideas and assets across the global network via existing and emerging technologies, communities, and platforms.
  • Perform periodic ‘health checks’ and connect with service lines and countries regularly on their innovation program activities and global innovation workstreams to promote global consistency and mitigate duplication of effort across network.
  • Plan and manage the execution of special projects involving the use of design thinking principles, development of new approaches and products that are in line with T&L Digital strategy.
  • Promote a culture of innovation by teaming with Global Tax & Legal Office (GTLO) Talent & Learning and supporting Innovation Senior Manager with innovation curriculum design and implementation.
  • Develop effective working relationships with internal clients, external experts, and third-party analyst firms. 
  • Research solutions, frameworks, and methodologies to address specific project needs.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

You are someone with:

  • Outstanding academic background; Bachelor’s Degree (i.e. in areas including business administration, strategy and innovation, technology development, design), MBA is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience preferably in areas such as: project management, design thinking, innovation management, strategic planning, competitive strategy, scenario planning, and/or Strategy & Operations consulting (with top tier consulting firm), and/or new product development or new business development
  • Interest and intellectual curiosity regarding innovation, exponential technologies, ecosystems, and driving value through relationships
  • A human-centered approach, building strong relationships and networks and spotting connections and parallels to inform the bigger picture
  • Excellent organization and program and project management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level writing experience and demonstration of strategic judgment
  • Experience developing leadership-level presentations from initial storyboarding to delivery
  • Strategic thinking and ability to synthesize large amounts of information quickly
  • Fluent in the language of innovation, including new business, talent and delivery models (and related exponential technologies), a plus
  • Consultative mindset, ability to navigate ambiguous circumstances and complex structures
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Empathetic and flexible in approach
  • Combination big picture view with outstanding attention to detail
  • Comfort working autonomously in a virtual global team environment, including self-discipline and time management skills
  • Ability to be self-directed and contribute in a small team environment
  • Proactive and results-oriented, collegial team player who wants to help build a high-performance team
  • Comfortable working in a global, matrixed environment
  • Baseline understanding of Deloitte’s overall capabilities, and a strong working understanding of Tax & Legal service offerings, tools and methodologies, a plus
  • Track record of high performance  
  • Ability to travel
