Guberman Garson LLP Immigration Law, an independent law firm allied with Deloitte LLP in Canada, practices exclusively in the area of immigration law. The firm was established to provide expert and efficient immigration legal services to corporations, businesses, the legal sector and individual clients.


Guberman Garson LLP is currently seeking to fill the full-time, permanent position of Manager, Immigration to support our rapidly growing US Immigration Programs based in our Toronto office.


Specifically as a Manager, Immigration focused on US Immigration Programs, your duties will include, but will not be limited to, the following:


  • Leading, participating in and monitoring delivery of US corporate immigration programs;
  • Leading and/or participating in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of program initiatives and strategies aimed at ensuring US corporate immigration compliance, through the creation and maintenance of program management and process improvement tools to streamline high volume engagements;
  • Leading the completion of  monthly and quarterly reports to track the service delivery of large programs accounts;
  • Relating well with client group and effectively handling confidential data and tight timelines for deliverables;
  • Driving continual momentum and ensuring immigration programs are executed in accordance with client and internal SLAs;
  • Development of operational reports leveraging case-management technology and collaborative file sharing software;
  • Identifying barriers to case resolution and endorsing compliant practical solutions to align with client needs;
  • Managing and overseeing direct reports workload distribution, including ability to manage teams remotely utilizing technology and reporting;
  • Providing training and coaching (formal and informal) to direct reports on an ongoing and needed basis;
  • Acting as a subject matter expert resource to junior staff and providing guidance on US immigration requirements, processes and procedures;
  • Managing and overseeing internal and external projects, as required;
  • Collaborating with leadership and broader mobility teams to drive process improvements, enhancements to the applicant experience, etc.

External Posting Qualifications

We are seeking the best and the brightest individuals. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following job requirements:


  • Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in Law, or a related field with outstanding academic credentials is required;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a high-volume corporate immigration environment is required;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating within a large, multi-site or multi-national organization is required;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supervising and coordinating the work of staff is required;
  • Proven experience building relationships and partnering with key stakeholders at senior levels is required;
  • Proven substantial experience developing and delivering training and coaching is required;
  • Proven proficiency with MS Office and INSZoom (or similar immigration, case management software) is required;
  • Strong strategic-thinking skills with an ability to identify, recommend and collaborate with team members on process improvements and best practices are required;
  • Ability to work autonomously, with critical understanding of when to escalate matters for necessary leadership approval is required;
  • Adept at navigating ambiguous situations; driving standardizations, while delicately balancing a need for exceptions based on unique circumstances.


Salary range of CAD $88,000.00 – CAD $98,000.00 per annum and will be commensurate with experience.




  • CAD $1,300 in Wellness spending;
  • 20 days allotted vacation, prorated in the first year of service;

  • RRSP and Pension contribution plans available;
  • Eligible for discretionary bonuses, increases in salary, and/or promotions – the whole in accordance with Guberman Garson’s policies and guidelines.
