What will your typical day look like?

The HR Business Partner (Accessibility & Employee Relations Manager) aligns within the Employee Relations team supporting our business as people leaders, and is accountable to:

  • Support the accommodation/accessibility program for new candidates and employees; make recommendations for improvements across internal teams in order to provide a better employee experience for people with disabilities
  • Improve the new hire/onboarding process to provide a more inclusive experience and accommodate employees (ex. utilizing technology and creating reference material on support available)
  • Receive complex accommodation and accessibility cases and guide internal talent teams to resolution
  • Support workplace investigations, ethics investigations, and determining actions to address and notify of non-compliance, misconduct or unfair treatment
  • Assisting with the development of ER collateral and processes
  • Support talent component of new acquisitions

About the team

The People Experience team, within the Culture and People Office, is the face to the business and a steward of the employee experience.  Team members deliver People and program services, and people leader services (aligned to lifecycle stage and Workplace Experience pillars) from a tiered, centralized function, providing a scalable platform to respond to changing business needs, and drive continuous improvement across the Culture and People Office function. With a focus on the employee journey, People Experience delivers end-to-end operational experiences through defined processes that are standard for all business segments.

  • Ability to bring a calm and collected bearing to emotionally charged situations, and show up with empathy and objectivity
  • Strong coaching and advisory capabilities with a solid track record of building trusted relationships with business leaders, employees and supporting them to navigate a range of complex people issues
  • Confidence to take ownership of issues, with the discernment to seek additional support when required

You are someone who has

  • 5+ years of HR Generalist, Employee Relations, Accommodations and/or Accessibility experience
  • A relevant Degree in a discipline pertinent to the job function (e.g. Human Resources, Disability Studies, Business Administration, Communications, Organizational Development or a related field)
  • Experience driving change and assisting with the delivery of accommodation and/or accessibility programs that create employee experience improvement and efficiencies, and involve multiple stakeholders
  • Awareness of accommodation and accessibility options (visible and non-visible disabilities) and a passion for making everyone feel included, valued and set for success 
  • Critical thinking skills, problem solving, organization and sense of urgency/prioritization skills
  • Excellent communication skills and empathy to understand individuals’ unique abilities and needs
  • Able to work as a key member of a team as well as independently
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • English-French bilingualism is a strong asset
