Manager, National Events

Contract/Maternity Replacement Role

Deloitte seeks an Experienced Manager with significant meeting planning experience in corporate meetings and events.  Extensive knowledge of the hospitality industry.

Manage conferences/meetings/special events

Liaise directly with Partners, Clients and staff across the firm

Assist in strategic planning

Assist in developing team standards and leading key projects

Responsible for coaching and overseeing team specialists with day to day planning best practices

Co-ordinate all logistical aspects of meetings such as:

venue selection

review and approval of vendor contracts

cost projection and budget analysis for each event

rooming lists

meeting room set-ups

audio visual requirements

catering arrangements/menu selection

promotional items, gifts

on site registration and co-ordination for larger events

simultaneous interpretation



Successful candidates will have the following experience and capabilities:

Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in event planning, with particular experience on complex projects

Comfort in a supervisory/leadership role

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work under time pressure and deal effectively under stress

Accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to multi task

Excellent interpersonal and client service skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel & Outlook

Flexibility to travel to attend on-site meetings when required

CMP preferred

Bilingualism (English, French) an asset
