What will your typical day look like?

 

Are you a data risk professional ready for an exceptional career experience to contribute your privacy or information management/protection knowledge and skills? Do you thrive on developing and implementing effective solutions to solve complex data risk challenges? Join the Global Confidentiality team to manage confidentiality risks across our global organization by playing an important role to deliver strategic projects and programs. You will join a growing lean data team focused on data risk management, specifically retention and disposal. You will help enable change organization-wide by aligning leadership, transforming, and modernizing processes, optimizing data management practices, and changing behaviors across all levels of the organization. You will have the opportunity to work across all regions and collaborate with key stakeholders.

 

Work you'll do:

 

  • Help to build new, or streamline existing, tech-enabled solutions and processes to ensure that data is managed in a risk based and effective manner
  • Lead and support strategic initiatives as identified throughout the year to deliver on Global Lean Data program objectives
  • Coordinate with different teams within the firm in order to help turn guidance into pragmatic, actionable steps for product teams and client service teams
  • Support the building of a lean data culture through training and awareness for practitioners to better manage data throughout its lifecycle
  • Proactively address data risk issues through gap assessments and implementation of effective solutions
  • Support program management and core team coordination activities, including working with initiative leads to establish workplans and monitor progress against weekly / annual / multi-year plans, and develop / execute change management plans to assist member firms and functions to roll out initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the organization to support the development of strategic perspectives on lean data in key geographies, opportunity identification and prioritization, member firm and regional alignment, and other activities that help realize global strategies
  • Deliver impact through deploying qualitative and quantitative analysis, concepts, frameworks, and story board skills to advise senior leadership on delivering a measurable impact in focus areas
  • Liaise with other Risk team members, and broader Deloitte member firm community, to share leading practices, with a strategic focus on developing tools and processes to continuously improve program and capabilities
  • Provide project management support from project initiation to execution
  • Review global policies, standards, and assessment results to ensure the organization meets privacy requirements and applicable government regulations for the protection of confidential information (CI)
  • Analyze trends in multinational and local data protection regulations, laws, and industry standards to further inform the need for new global security policies, standards, and controls

Global Risk, Regulatory, and Public Policy develops programs, processes, and resources to preserve, protect, and enhance the Deloitte brand around the world. We identify new and emerging risks that might impact the network, mitigate threats as they are identified, proactively engage with regulators and key stakeholders to develop identification and mitigation regulations and procedures, and build a clear voice around select policy topics.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

 

You are someone with:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, data management, computer science/ technology-related field, or other related education experience
  • 3+ years of experience in data privacy, data risk programs, records and information management, operations and compliance or other related-risk management experience
  • Ability to develop, implement and execute programs with strong project management experience
  • Experience with data retention, archiving, and disposal across various business lines and industries
  • Working knowledge of collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, MS Teams, etc.) and their subsequent retention policies or controls
  • Understanding of various information security and data protection related frameworks, standards, and regulations such as the ISO family of standards (27001/2, ISO 22301, ISO 27017, etc.) NIST, GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, etc.
  • Experience working and liaising with senior leadership (e.g., CIO, CISO, CPO, Directors, Principals) senior management, and subject matter experts (SME) across a global organization
  • Diversity of work experience with both client-service teams and firm functions
  • Strong skills in PowerPoint and other tools to prepare leadership presentations and metrics reporting
