The Global Knowledge Senior Manager serves as a knowledge management advisor to consulting’s global practice, specifically focused on the Strategy & Analytics and Mergers & Analytics Portfolio (SAM), and is accountable for the results of participation in priority knowledge-sharing programs. The role is responsible for an assigned knowledge-sharing relationship portfolio, project management, and team management and/or coaching. The role understands the SAM business priorities and identifies knowledge-sharing solutions that enable consistent, efficient, successful client sales and engagement delivery globally.

Role Specific Responsibilities:

  • Set a vision, lead and manage the assigned business relationship portfolio in line with Consulting Knowledge Services strategic priorities and in coordination with broader enterprise program
  • Cultivate consulting’s knowledge sharing culture in the global SAM Portfolio across regions and sectors
  • Define, maintain and execute the knowledge plan for the SAM Portfolio, including establishing targets for engagement; service level agreements; and leadership reporting
  • Proactively identify opportunities for knowledge-sharing improvement, and incorporate new capabilities or guidelines on an ongoing basis in coordination with enterprise programs
  • Implement effective policy adherence and governance processes for the SAM Portfolio area to ensure compliance with Deloitte’s confidentiality, privacy, and intellectual property policies
  • Advise member firm and practice leaders on knowledge services. Identify opportunities to promote the value of and how to participate in knowledge-sharing to consulting leadership and staff.
  • Represent the knowledge management platform, knowledge services, and consulting’s knowledge-sharing strategy to senior leadership, on DTTL governance bodies, on steering committees and to cross-functional member firm KM organizations
  • Develop, manage, and execute against strategic KM-related projects for DTTL, Global Knowledge Services organization, and the global SAM Portfolio

People Management

  • Establish and sustain appropriate stakeholder participation and processes for the SAM Portfolio and underlying Offering
  • Lead effective hiring, on-boarding, management, development, & retention of team members serving the consulting business
  • Be an effective team leader and coach to assigned team members and motivate professional development
  • Establish and actively maintain relationships of partnership and collaboration with DTTL teams, internal clients and stakeholders from the consulting business, and appropriate KM leaders in the marketplac
  • Maintain effective relationships and communication across the Knowledge Services organization for optimal delivery of all enterprise knowledge-sharing programs

Knowledge Sharing / Documentation

  • Solicit feedback from consulting leaders and users to continually improve the assigned program or consulting business relationship portfolio
  • Define metrics for the SAM Portfolio in line with the consulting strategy; measure and communicate knowledge-sharing success regularly with Knowledge Services and consulting leadership to influence priorities and future development
  • Collaborate with Global Consulting business organizations and leaders (e.g., enterprise Methods & Tools, Deployment Centers, Quality &
  • Risk) to deliver optimal, integrated knowledge-sharing solutions for the SAM Portfolio
  • Actively contribute to the appropriate internal communication and collaboration channels including but not limited to Knowledge Exchange (KX), Yammer and communities of practice with the intent to lead and demonstrate knowledge-sharing behavior, engage and support consulting professionals, and maintain visibility to DTTL initiatives and global projects
  • Promote knowledge sharing by facilitating or participating in external communities and professional networks/associations
  • Demonstrate eminence by presenting at external conferences, writing articles for publication, and participating in other venues, as appropriate

You are someone with:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; relevant fields of study may include Business, Management, Information Systems, Library Sciences, Journalism and/or Communications. MBA preferred
  • Candidate must have 7-9 years of relevant experience, ideally including experience in strategy and/or M&A environments. Experience in a global professional services organization and in working across geographies highly preferred
  • Experience with electronic knowledge, repository management, intranets/portals, collaborative and social media tools; SharePoint experience a plus
  • Subject matter expert on knowledge management people and process capabilities including:
  •  Knowledge transfer methodologies, such as communities, social network analysis, expertise recognition and connection, story-telling, knowledge-centered support desk operations
  •  Knowledge Management promotion techniques, such as relationship management, goals & measurements, knowledgesharing incentives & rewards, training, user surveys, communications
  • Strong understanding and extensive usage of knowledge asset acquisition & classification process and tools, such as enterprise taxonomy models, knowledge mapping, after-action reviews, lessons learned, innovation & idea-generation, people profiles
  • Strong understanding and extensive usage of knowledge management technologies, including portal management, website usability, databases & repositories, subscription management, collaborative & social software, content & document management, search engines, expertise locators, taxonomy metadata, metrics reporting & analytics, workflow and process automation applications
  • Experience with culture and change management principles and approaches to influence stakeholders and cultivate knowledgesharing behaviors
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experienced, independent thinker with proven project management experience; ability to manage multiple simultaneous
  • projects and stakeholders and deliver results
  • Highly responsive with demonstrated ability to take initiative and interact with all levels of management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional relationship building/relationship management skills to establish rapport, build trust and confidence, and manage customer expectations
  • Collaborative, team player
  • High comfort level working, managing resources, and collaborating in a virtual, global environment
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and adapt to change; experience managing change, acting as a change agent to influence others
  • Strategic and innovative thinker with critical problem solving skills
  • Understands the business or industry, relevant marketplace trends and competitive environment
  • Prior experience in management consulting/professional services and experience working with account teams a plus
