What will your typical day look like?

 

In this interesting and diverse role, you’ll gain exposure to firm leaders throughout the globe and gain a deep knowledge of our 5 businesses (Audit & Assurance, Consulting, Financial Advisory, Risk Advisory, and Tax &
Legal). As a Manager, you will lead a small team helping to solve complex business issues from shaping and strategy to execution, with oversight from a Senior Manager or Director.

Examples of impactful work include:

  • Engaging with senior firm leaders to shape and prioritize their innovation objectives and collaborate across businesses, geographies, and/or enabling areas to execute toward defined innovation objectives
  • Helping shape future firm offerings by identifying emerging trends, white-space opportunities for the firm, and building new programs within identified offerings
  • Accelerating the way the firm goes to market as a technology-enabled services business by designing global processes for the technology development lifecycle, implementing technology platforms to enable those processes, and building certification programs to help standardize how innovative products are built and taken to market

About the team


The Corporate Development Office (CDO) leads Deloitte’s acquisitions, ventures, alliances and international investment where Deloitte Canada enters into transactions to grow its services offerings. The CDO is committed to increasing value to the partnership through thoughtful execution and innovative thinking. The CDO is targeting a significant amount in incremental annual revenue opportunities from these initiatives. The CDO has executed over 40 transactions in the last five years. Few professional services firm in Canada has executed this many transactions. The team has six people throughout the country. Transactions have been undertaken in interesting areas such as cyber-security, specialized legal services, analytics, data, innovative technologies, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, to name but a few.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you


You are someone with:

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in any of the following:
    • Commercial technology consulting experience
    • Technology organization
    • Digital product development, digital enterprise product design, development and deployment, artificial intelligence, cloud, blockchain, robotic process automation, cybersecurity and other disruptive technologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology field
  • Ability to be a self-starter and continuous learner - willing to research and acquire new skills to get the job done
  • Critical and "out-of-the-box" thinker - questions the status-quo while coming up with innovative solutions
  • Resourceful - leverages network, internal and external resources to inform and educate the project
  • Analytical - grasps complex concepts and synthesizes unstructured data to summarize effectively and drive key decisions
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and pivoting priorities
  • Executive presence and communication skills - able to build executive-level presentations and present to an executive audience
  • Delivers to results - able to develop and articulate a point of view on key global trends and how they impact clients
  • Experience influencing others (small team of direct reports, key stakeholders, etc.)
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Suite
  • Interest in disruptive technologies and innovative trends
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience managing or working autonomously, and collaborating across multiple time zones with a global virtual team
