What will your typical day look like?

We are hiring a hands-on Senior Technical Architect to understand business drivers, assess the current product portfolios, and design reliable, scalable, and cost-effective big data and cognitive products. You will own the architecture for our big data and AI platform and work with our business partners to use leading edge technologies and deliver game changing technologies for our Audit practice around the world!

This is a very technical leadership role who can go broad and deep – providing leadership, shaping technology strategy and roadmaps, diving into big data, machine learning, messaging, and parallel processing with developers, and also acting as a coach and mentor for our development teams to deliver amazing results.

You will provide leadership and direction on technology decisions to multiple cross-functional product delivery teams. You will have fun shaping product strategy and roadmaps in close collaboration with our audit leaders and other technology and innovation leaders throughout Deloitte. You will perform analysis and tuning for proof of concepts, as well as build cognitive computing solutions in support of pre-sales client opportunities.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture and all technology decisions for our data analytics and cognitive technology solutions
  • Design and oversee the technical excellence of high-volume, high-scale, reliable and secure global solutions.
  • Work closey with the delivery teams to ensure high quality implementation and technical excellence
  • Coach and grow more junior architects and developers
  • Provide technical direction to the development teams
  • Facilitates the reuse of code, components, and proven patterns
  • Understanding emerging and evolving end user usage models and requirements in Big Data and Analytics to design a scalable architecture
  • Define quality gates such as code coverage, security scans and performance targets
  • Be an advocate for positive technological and quality changes
  • Work with Product Owner and other stakeholders to understand the high-level requirements and business objectives; and make recommendations for business prioritization, roadmaps and product improvements
  • Develop trusting relationships with our business and other subject matter experts
  • Provide leadership in refining the product backlog from an architectural standpoint
  • Communicate with senior leaders regarding the architecture, discuss problems and recommend solutions and improvements.
  • Bring new ideas in cloud, big data, and machine learning software development

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
  • 15+ years experience in architecting, delivering, and supporting highly available and performant systems
  • Expert in data pipelines, streaming, in-memory computing, and map-reduce
  • Expert in building high volume data analytics solutions in the Cloud using Databricks and Spark
  • Expert in building modular architectures with micro-services and APIs and C#
  • Expert with distributed and parallel processing systems along with data structures and algorithms
  • Expert across cloud, data, infrastructure, APIs, and front-end technologies
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Spark and Databricks
    • CosmosDB and Redis
    • Queueing technologies, such as Azure Service Bus
    • In depth understanding of ETL tools architecture and design best practices
    • Experience with many of the following from the Microsoft Azure: Data Lake, Synapse, SQL Data Warehouse, SQL Streaming Analytics, Cognitive Services, Data Factory, Power BI, KeyVault, Azure AD, and Azure SQL
    • Monitoring technologies for cloud solutions such as Azure AppInsights
    • Experience with Informatica and other ETL technologies and tools (Informatica Cloud services is a plus)
    • Secure coding practices and unit testing frameworks
  • Experience with natural language processing, named entity recognition, machine learning and general unstructured data analytics
  • Extensive experience working across teams and operating in an Agile Scrum culture
  • Capable of technical deep dives into platforms, infrastructure, databases, and applications as needed, yet cognitively agile enough to have strategy discussions with leadership
  • Knows what is possible using latest technologies (open source, data stores, algorithms, etc.)

The salary range for this position is $104,000 - $215,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
