Commercial Banking is one of the focus areas of Deloitte’s Financial Services group with a growing practice in Canada. Deloitte’s Commercial Banking team specializes in end-to-end business and digital transformation for commercial banks, enabling our clients to optimize their current business, build and launch new propositions and support them with the associated business and technology change. Through the delivery of client solutions and industry publications, Deloitte team has become established as trusted advisor to our clients. Our team is at the forefront of leading commercial banks through change and uncertainty to exploit opportunities and deliver value; by providing consulting services across strategy, operations, and technology.

We are looking for candidates that have a strong background in Commercial Banking with knowledge of  products, processes / operating models, as well as the ability to drive large tech-enabled transformational programs. A successful candidate will also have knowledge of the Canadian Commercial Banking landscape, leading digital solutions, trends in the Commercial Banking space including Lending, Trade Finance and Cash Management. 

 

What will your typical day look like?

 

•    Deliver exceptional client service by maximizing results and driving high performance from people, while also fostering collaboration across stakeholders and businesses
•    Manage the overall client engagement by identifying and addressing client needs, conduct interviews and facilitate workshops, manage day-to-day interactions with clients and internal stakeholders, and developing the recommendations to address clients’ business and technology challenges
•    Nurture and develop trusted client relationships, and developing your reputation as a trusted advisor
•    Lead the proposal development cycle; lead and contribute to the development of proposal technical content, sales presentation, market positioning, and proposal presentations, and assisting in business development activities
•    Lead development of market-valued intellectual capital and perspectives in the Commercial Banking domain; contribute to the development of methodologies and market assets
•    Lead discovery strategy phases of work, develop business transformation vision working with senior stakeholders
•    Provide expert advice on complex transformation projects
•    Shape transformation strategies, create value roadmap, high-level target solution designs, target experiences
•    Manage all aspects of projects from planning, budgeting, delivery & execution, and stakeholder management
•    Develop high-performing teams by providing coaching and mentoring to junior practitioners

 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

 

•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with outstanding academic credentials and 8+ years of progressive and relevant management/technology consulting experience, with minimum 4 years of relevant experience in Commercial Banking business process, operations, technology initiatives, business transformation
•    Industry experience within commercial banking including lending, cash management and/or trade finance
•    Ability to lead the proposal development cycle; shaping client opportunities 
•    Provide thought leadership and develop industry POVs to solve for client needs
•    Ability to think innovatively and deliver client-oriented solutions 
•    Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities  
•    Proven program management skills with the demonstrated ability to lead large and complex transformational program and initiatives, in a multi-stakeholder environment
•    Experience providing service excellence, overseeing the quality of client deliverables and effectively managing teams and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance
•    Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving skills, flexibility to thrive in an ever-changing environment, and a “get it done” attitude
•    Experience in and ability to engage with and advise senior executives
