Payments is one of the core focus areas of Deloitte’s Financial Services group with a significant practice in Canada.  We have one of the largest, most focused and successful global payments team in the industry – we are a recognized leader in the Payments space.   Our clients span large Canadian banks, the payment networks and FinTech players – from retail, business, and wholesale banking.  We advise senior executives on managing risk – from the latest SWIFT modernization messaging standards, to evolving regulatory requirements being set out under the Canadian Retail Payments Activities Act.  
We are looking for candidates that have a strong background in retail, corporate and wholesale payments with experience risk management and compliance.   A successful candidate will also have knowledge of the broad payments landscape, ecosystem participants, and domestic and global payments trends.

What will your typical day look like?

As a Senior Consultant in Toronto, you work in a collaborative team environment to analyze issues and address client challenges related to risk management in payment systems and processes 
•    Deliver exceptional client service by maximizing results and driving high performance, while also fostering collaboration across stakeholders and team
•    Support the overall client engagement by identifying and addressing client needs and challenges, conduct interviews and facilitate workshops, manage day-to-day interactions with clients and internal stakeholders, and developing recommendations to address client’s risk challenges 
•    Nurture and develop trusted client relationships 
•    Develop your expertise in payments risk and your reputation as a trusted business advisor
•    Lead aspects of the proposal development cycle; contribute to the development of proposal technical content, sales presentation, market positioning and proposal presentations, and assisting in business development activities 
•    Participate in the development of market-valued intellectual capital and perspectives in the payments risk domain; contribute to the development of methodologies, and points of views 
•    Learn from our subject matter experts and similarly, help to coach and develop junior practitioners 
•    Participate in and support the development of training programs

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone who has: / You are someone with:
•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with outstanding academic credentials 
•    4+  years of relevant experience in Risk Management and Payments related projects, either as a Consultant or as part of a Risk or Compliance team in the industry
•    Experience in professional services or a client-based environment; functional experience in payments compliance and risk management
•    Experience managing project teams through all phases of the project lifecycle, systems and technologies that support the Risk or Compliance function
•    Superior verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment
•    Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues, demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet challenging deadlines
