What will your typical day look like?
As a Senior Consultant, you are an integral part of the project team delivering on our clients’ initiatives in Strategy and Business Design. You will be required to interact on a daily basis with our clients across the Insurance industry on a range of different activities, including document and data analysis, assessment of current and target states, roadmap development, and project management. Senior Consultants will have the opportunity to manage increasing portions of project delivery, eventually leading junior practitioners within the team. Senior Consultants are expected to contribute to the firm's growth and development by:
- Supporting team leaders with engagement planning and scoping, facilitating buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels, and delivering on-time, high-quality engagement work products
- Developing and maintaining relationships with top decision makers at key clients, participating in business development activities, and being an active member of pursuit teams supporting proposal content development
- Supporting the creation of practical solutions and methodologies, developing "point of view" documents, and supporting industry and eminence events sponsored by the firm
About the team
The Strategy and Business Design practice (Monitor Deloitte) team of Deloitte Strategy Risk & Transactions business, works with the world’s leading and most ambitious insurers and financial services organizations to address issues that are most important to them—often working to resolve the highest-order strategic choices that fundamentally affect the future direction of their organizations. We not only bring our clients the insights and unconventional thinking that help them form strategies to anticipate risk and respond to change — we also use our experience and knowledge to help them bring those strategies to life. The team brings deep expertise across a diversity of financial services sectors and content areas to help clients address top management issues involving corporate / business unit strategy, customer strategy, innovation, and business transformation in the form of process redesign, cost optimization programs, and implementation of strategic initiatives. Across all of these areas, we help organizations with change management and build leadership competencies within our clients.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
As a Senior Consultant, you have:
- A minimum 3 years of cumulative experience in Financial Services and / or Strategy Consulting
- Experience within Life & Health and / or Property & Casualty Insurance, and key industry adjacencies (e.g., health, wealth, broader financial services)
- Experience in strategy or management consulting (preferably in Financial Services)
- Experience with strategy development and strategy creation (preferably in Financial Services)
- Demonstrated project delivery experience in professional or volunteer contexts including:
- Synthesis of analysis into coherent narratives
- Producing tangible outputs at different stages of a process
- Mentoring of junior team members
- Experience managing people is a bonus
- Due to the nature of the role having interactions with national and global clients, bilingualism in French and English is required for this position in Montreal and is a strong asset in other locations.

- Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and financial forecasting
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to ambiguous challenges
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a concern for storytelling and an ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively
- Critical & Creative Thinking: Exemplified by an ability to see patterns, connect dots, and generate creative and novel strategies and ideas.
- Comfort with Ambiguity: Capacity to frame a problem, make assumptions and judgment calls, with ability to be resourceful and ‘take a first pass’ independently
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with strategy tools and frameworks
- Collaboration: Interest in working on multidisciplinary teams with diverse perspectives
You must be legally able to work in Canada - the ability to enter the USA and Chile to work on client assignments is also an asset.
Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $92,000 - $138,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
