What will your typical day look like?
In this role you will help financial services industry (FSI) clients face quantitative issues with informed confidence. Using your deep technical skills and leveraging our global network of experts, you’ll provide professional advice to our FSI clients in a wide range of situations. The result? Our clients will be better placed to take control and receive the best solutions to their complex challenges.
The Investment Risk team develops and validates models for investment risk management and financial instrument valuation, including portfolio analytics, fixed income and structured products, and complex derivatives. As part of this team, you will be responsible for the following:
- Develop, implement, and validate financial models for risk management and financial instrument valuation, including derivatives, fixed income, equities, and structured products.
- Be involved in client engagements, presenting analysis, findings, and recommendations clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
- Conduct audits and internal reviews to ensure adherence to internal controls, industry regulations, and best practices.
- Collaborate with clients to identify risk management needs and design tailored solutions that align with their strategic objectives.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for clients and senior management, highlighting key insights and actionable recommendations.
- Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry advancements to inform risk assessments and valuation strategies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal methodologies and tools used in risk management, modeling, and valuation.
The Performance team helps financial institutions deal with investment performance, investment benchmarks and compliance with the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS). As part of this team, you will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and / or validate different investment performance methodologies according to best market practices;
- Be involved in different investment management consulting projects for our clients;
- Carry out various complex financial analyses including performance measurement, attribution, reporting and investment benchmarks
- Provide assurance and advisory services related to investment performance and the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS)
- Cultivate relationships with clients and possess a strong knowledge in investment performance;
- Work collaboratively as part of a local and national team of talented advisors;
- Contribute to practice growth and development.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you
The Investment Risk Team:
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment or market risk, derivative valuation, and audit, preferably within a consulting environment.
- Solid academic background with a graduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as a PhD or Master’s Degree in Financial Engineering, Statistics, Financial Mathematics, Econometrics, or a related postgraduate field.
- Strong programming skills in Python, VBA, and MATLAB. Proficiency with database tools such as SQL and SAS.
- Experience with financial statements, portfolio analysis, risk assessment techniques, and credit rating & loss models is an asset.
- Deep understanding of investment risk and financial instruments, including complex derivatives, fixed income and structured products (e.g., mortgages, equity & interest rate options, convertibles, CDS, CDO).
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial statements, portfolio analysis, risk assessment techniques, financial instruments pricing models, capital markets, and tax & fair value reporting requirements
- Experience with vendor models (e.g., FINCAD), databases (e.g., Bloomberg, CapIQ), and valuation of large fixed income portfolios is an asset.
- Completion of FRM I & II
- Completion of CFA Level I
The Performance Team:
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience spent within Capital Markets, Asset Management or GIPS verification firm in a role directly related to investment performance (measurement, attribution or reporting) or GIPS compliance;
- Understanding of investment performance and attribution, risk, exposure, and financial reporting issues;
- Demonstrated ability to perform complex analysis and manage/resolve issues;
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process enhancements to ensure that activities are completed in an efficient manner and add value.
- Knowledge of Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) is an asset;
- Enrolled in relevant professional designation (i.e. CPA, CFA, CIPM) is beneficial;
- Capacity to work under deadline pressures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence;
- Fluency in French would be an asset.
Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $113,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
