What will your typical day look like?

In partnership with other leaders in the firm you will focus on developing, selling, and delivering leading-edge cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. As a key member of our Azure engineering practice, you will solve tough problems and ensure success in designing and building complex, world-class solutions for our clients and while helping grow our Azure practice by: 

Leveraging your deep knowledge of Azure, you will lead architecture and design engagements which result in highly secure, modern, cloud native solutions 

Leading technical delivery teams through the planning and execution activities which deliver quality solutions to our clients 

Joining our Azure Community of Practice (CoP) as a leader and directly contributing to the development of our Azure talent pool 

Directly mentoring up-and-coming Azure experts in our practice through formal and informal coaching 

Identifying and leading internal activities to enhance existing and develop new Azure assets and accelerators that package our technical and industry experience for reuse in other engagements 

Leveraging our deep relationships and partner programs to maintain leading edge skills. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in trusted tester and alpha/beta programs 

Authoring and contributing to customer-facing publications such as podcasts, blogs, and whitepapers on Azure

We are a specialized capability within Deloitte’s technology consulting practice in Canada, focused on the technical, organizational, and cultural elements that must be considered when helping our clients embrace a Cloud-first mindset. Our clients span across various industries including financial services, energy and resources, consumer and retail business, digital-native, and public sector.

Core Skills: 

 

15+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience, with a proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior business and technology leaders up to and including CxO 

5+ years of experience managing multiple, large-scale engagements with a team of 10+ people. You have led high performing, results driven teams with a focus on client satisfaction 

Project experience spanning cloud migration (including moving COTS workloads), application modernization and refactoring, re-engineering complex enterprise applications from legacy platforms to Azure and foundational work such as cloud landing zone, monitoring and policy deployment 

A love for solution architecting in Azure. You have a good understanding of the Azure Architecture Center and know how to apply different reference architectures to solve for different scenarios. You can architect for complex network scenarios and have a deep understanding of how to properly implement security through all layers of the stack. You have working knowledge of hybrid-cloud architectures, container-based workloads, PaaS/Serverless architectures and how to build and secure solutions hosted on IaaS 

Documenting and sharing information, both for our client (design documents and feedback) and internally to our Azure CoP is very important to you 

Past experience as a successful solution engineer with years of hands-on experience building solutions in Azure and Azure DevOps 

You are a self-starter with a passion for learning Azure and mentoring others. As a technical leader you’re always looking to see who else in the practice you can help develop and skill up 

Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools, including Git repos, pipelines and artifact management 

Working knowledge of Azure CLI and shell languages such as Bash and PowerShell 

Comfortable presenting to senior leadership and executives at Fortune 500 organizations 

One or more Azure certifications at the associate level (Developer, Administrator, DevOps Engineer, Security Engineer) 

Ability to travel up to 20%  

 

 

Good to have: 

Understanding of Identity and Access Management, user and system authentication methods and certificates, tokens and certificate management 

Experience with API development 

Azure Solution Architect Expert certification 

Knowledge of standard selling disciplines, specifically solution selling and RFP management 

Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, coaching, analysis, problem solving and short term and long-term planning 

Experienced, persuasive, and effective presenter, both written and verbal 

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to handle diverse situations, multiple initiatives, and rapidly changing priorities 

Experience with Agile methods and work management
