What will your typical day look like?
Today’s M&A due diligence environment generates vast volumes of data and information, and almost all of this information is captured and stored in digital form.
You will be a key member of client deal teams through gathering, normalizing, validating, and analyzing transactional data (e.g., sales, inventory, loan, recurring revenue data) to develop and test hypotheses for a given deal. Your work will often include collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring insights from your work and to form fulsome and consistent messaging for the client. You will leverage your skills on the deal to manage and analyze the data and use visual analytics skills to tell a compelling story of our findings.
You will be using business intelligence tools and use your data analytic skillset to provide meaningful insights to our clients which are crucial to their deal investment hypothesis. You will leverage your client service skillset directly interacting with C-suite and private equity executives providing advice on some of the most critical aspects of the M&A transaction.
A candidate can expect to do some or all of the following:
- Coordinate with client business and IT personnel to identify, collect and validate data
- Design and develop visualizations and dashboards that deliver crucial financial and operational buy and sell-side insights
- Analyze financial & key performance indicator deal data for trends and outliers
- Directly advise clients
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as demonstrable evidence of effective team leadership, client relationship development, project management and engagement management, preferably in a client service setting
Team members collaborate with other transaction service analytics professionals, members of the deal teams and clients to produce analysis within fast-paced transaction deadlines. This is not a “back-office” position; this is front-line client interaction with significant opportunity for growth.
Secondarily, based on project pipeline, you will have life cycle responsibility to lead and manage value creation/enterprise profitability engagements driven by data and analytics. You will experience the growth of a practice totally dedicated to the art and science of using data to help our clients define strategy and drive business decisions related to value creation. You will continue your professional development to expand your career path, working with high profile clients and Deloitte Partners who need a leader to support their top priority initiatives and strategies.
