Do you love the challenge to establish and define data governance guidelines, principles, and operational procedures? Deloitte is looking for a Data Governance manager to join our dynamic, solution-oriented Marketing Technology team.

What will your typical day look like?

With an initial focus on contacts (individuals), the Data Governance Manager will leverage a team of business data stewards (BDS), establish guidelines and operational processes, and partner with the use of technology to enhance the firm’s contact data quality. With the impending introduction of a relationship intelligence platform, embedded automation and proprietary master data management (MDM) system, the Data Governance Manager will work with other subject matter experts to understand the use of contact data in the firm and subsequently

  • Define contact data governance: principles, business rules and definitions
  • Develop contact data quality standards: measurement of data quality, confidence threshold, priority setting, contact matching logic etc.
  • Lead a team of geographically diverse business data stewards (BDS)
  • Establish and document operational procedures for BDS
  • Monitor the team’s operational efficiency and efficacy
  • Refine and improve ways of working, surface observations and gaps to identify logic deficiencies and collaborate with others (e.g. internal IT, external vendors) to maximize the team’s impact to enhance and enrich contact data quality at the firm
  • Ensure contact data collected, enriched and enhanced is managed in a manner that is consistent with Deloitte’s policy and the management of contact data remains compliant with the firm’s legal, privacy and confidentiality guidelines

The Data Governance Manager will also be the business owner of the firm’s MDM and will develop a deep understanding of MDM’s purpose, data integration, embedded business logic and operational workflows.

As data governance for contacts within the firm matures, there will be opportunities for the Data Governance Manger to grow and further expand their scope to include other domains (e.g. accounts).

Reporting to the Director of Marketing Technology, the Data Governance Manager will be a key member of the Marketing Technology team whose mission is to use data, analytics, technology and digital channels to help the firm drive growth, nurture relationships and strengthen the brand in the marketplace. Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone who is/has:

  • 4 to 6 years of experience working in a progressive capacity to improve data quality and provide oversight on projects/team
  • Subject matter expertise in the domain of contacts/individuals: data governance framework/practices, data quality standards/metrics, business use of contact information
  • Comfortable working with different technology platforms coupled with a logical process- and detail-oriented mindset; Must be able to work with a high degree of detail and have high quality standards
  • Strong communication, analytical, conceptual problem-solving abilities required
  • Curious self-starter who is resourceful and collaborative
