Commercial Banking is one of the focus areas of Deloitte’s Financial Services group with a growing practice in Canada. Deloitte’s Commercial Banking team specializes in end-to-end digital transformation for commercial banks, enabling our clients to optimize their current business, build and launch new propositions and support them with the associated business and technology change. Through the delivery of client solutions and industry publications, Deloitte team has become established as trusted advisor to our clients. Our team is at the forefront of leading commercial banks through change and uncertainty to exploit opportunities and deliver value; from regulatory and compliance to digital transformation and proposition development.

We are looking for candidates that have a strong background in Commercial Banking with experience in banking technology, business process design and delivery of large transformation projects. A successful candidate will also have knowledge of the Canadian Commercial Banking landscape, leading digital solutions, trends in the Commercial Banking space including Lending, Trade Finance and Cash Management.

What will your typical day look like?

 

  • Deliver exceptional client service by maximizing results and driving high performance from people, while also fostering collaboration across stakeholders and businesses

  • Evaluate business processes and technology landscape, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement creative solutions

  • Conduct interviews and facilitate workshops, manage day-to-day interactions with clients and internal stakeholders, and developing the recommendations to address clients’ business and technology challenges

  • Nurture and develop trusted client relationships, and developing your reputation as a trusted advisor

  • Contribute to the development of proposal technical content, sales presentation, market positioning, and proposal presentations, and assisting in business development activities

  • Participate in the development of market-valued intellectual capital and perspectives in the Commercial Banking domain; contribute to the development of methodologies and market assets

About the team

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with outstanding academic credentials and 6+ years of progressive and relevant management/technology consulting experience

  • Industry experience within commercial banking including lending, cash management and/or trade finance

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in Commercial Banking business process, operations, technology initiatives

  • Experience in technology implementation engagements with a knowledge of requirements, design, test, deployment cycles.

  • Strong technology knowledge of banking systems such as nCino, Salesforce, LoanIQ, AFS (desired, not mandatory).

  • Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving skills, flexibility to thrive in an ever-changing environment, and a “get it done” attitude

  • Ability to storyboard, develop and present information to senior executives

  • Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
