What will your typical day look like?


The COE Real Estate, Sustainability Manager will play a critical role in supporting the COE Real Estate Sustainability Leader to embed sustainability concepts into major global, real estate projects across our 3m square metre portfolio. They will have visibility of global initiatives but will have a specific customer focus in the Americas. 


Their focus will be on ensuring sustainability is factored into the following across the global estate: site selection and leasing decisions, the design/construction of office fit-outs, and effective handover to our operational teams. There is a ‘Better Buildings’ toolkit in place to support this activity. Ad-hoc, they may also be asked to provide advice to operational teams on how others in the global network are driving energy efficiency in use.


The Sustainability Manager will focus on improving governance and accountability around our sustainable real estate programme in order that Deloitte achieves its 2030 WorldClimate targets with respect its occupational real estate portfolio in Americas / Asia Pacific / EMEA. They will support the evolution of the Better Buildings toolkit and good practice; they will work with real estate teams within the region to identify strategic opportunities for Deloitte to occupy sustainable buildings, and take responsibility for sharing knowledge and successes across the region and broader Deloitte network.


The post will report to the COE Real Estate Sustainability Leader.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you


You are someone with:


  • Degree in relevant sustainability, architectural or engineering subject LEED/ BREEAM/ WELL/ and/or other equivalent certified assessor
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in either a sustainability consultancy, design role or in-house delivering sustainable real estate projects
  • Direct experience of applying LEED/ BREEAM/ WELL and/or other equivalent rating tools Direct experience of undertaking embodied carbon analysis for new constructions or refurbishment projects Experience of project managing complex projects within the built environment from design to handover.
  • Experience of monitoring buildings in operation ideal. A fair understanding of sustainability best practice, including green leases; LCA; embodied carbon assessments; operational energy use; circular economy
  • principles; biophilic design etc.
  • Membership of relevant institution (ideally chartered), e.g., IEMA; RIBA; RICS If in the Asia Pacific market knowledge of one of the following: Cantonese / Mandarin / Japanese
