What will your typical day look like?


As a Cloud Application Developer, you will

  • Work on the design and software development of enterprise applications and APIs leveraging public cloud services. 
  • Provide end-to-end delivery of cloud-native applications and services, which help with the strategic vision for scaling and growth. 
  • Lead technical direction of cloud based projects to address business needs, and lead these projects to successful implementation. 
  • Collaborate with customers and partner teams to address specific cloud security and compliance challenges. 
  • Improve existing processes and/or develop new processes to improve software development efficiency where needed.
  • Lead the interaction, coordination and automation between several different groups within the product development lifecycle including Operations, Development, QA Support, Cyber Security, and business teams.
  • Work extensively with cross-functional areas of Public Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), compliance standards and certifications related to cloud computing (ISO, SOC, CIS, NIST, etc), automation and scripting (PowerShell, bash, Jscript, VB.NET, Ruby, Python, Perl), data center infrastructure (network, storage, server hardware), virtualization technologies, IT process automation and orchestration tools, secure software development lifecycle, Windows/Unix server administration, and web services (REST, SOAP). 
  • Participate in the Agile Scrum process for prioritizing tasks, planning work and delivering acceptable features on-time and under budget.


Other responsibilities


Other duties the resource will be responsible for the following: 

  • Focus on providing research, development and implementation of applications/integrations built using cloud-native services and the infrastructure required to host them. 
  • Design and implement Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to support provisioning of cloud infrastructure, automate compliance policy scanning, and support a more consistent/predictable/secure delivery of cloud services.
  • Coordinate requirements gathering, solution design sessions, implementation plans and Proofs of Concepts.  
  • Follow the team’s standards to create and manage automated DevOps release management pipelines which delivers tooling for next generation application development efforts and on-going production operations.
  • Cultivate a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery mind set.
  • Analyze and stay current on emerging technologies in the area of public cloud and influences direction of project solutions. 
  • Responsible for the design and development using the latest software, cloud services and vendor tool

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

As a Cloud Application Developer, you have a:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline and/or a minimum of 5 years of related experience in enterprise technology application development  
  • Advanced proficiency with Web and API development (C# .NET, Python, JavaScript, React.js, Angular)
  • Advanced knowledge of API management platforms and API standards (OpenAPI, Swagger, Mulesoft, Apigee, etc)
  • Advanced experience building and working within GIT and DevOps automation (Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, etc)
  • Experience with public cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
  • Hands on experience in scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Perl, Bash, or similar);
  • Proficiency with database operations and queries (e.g. MS SQL Server, NoSQL, Mysql);
  • Some proficiency with infrastructure server, software and network troubleshooting
  • Public Cloud certifications preferred (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
  • Agile and DevOps certifications preferred (Scaled Agile Framework, Scum Alliance, etc)
