What will your typical day look like?

The Chief of Staff will report to the Global Managing Director, Workforce Solutions and Systems (WSS), within the Global People Organization. As the Chief of Staff, you'll be at the center of managing key aspects of the Managing Director’s engagements and critical projects. The Managing Director is responsible for leading a portfolio of initiatives which includes but is not limited to Workforce Solutions, People Strategy, Acquisition, Mobility, HR Technology, and Organizational Transformations. The Chief of Staff extends their Executive’s influence and reach, and acts as a confidante and advisor, often serving as a sounding board for ideas.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the Managing Director, to improve operational efficiency, solve problems, make decisions, and manage relationships
  • Assist in executing on several projects and initiatives simultaneously tracking progress, gathering status updates, and deploying the WSS team to assist where needed
  • Proactively drive and/or oversee projects on the behalf of the Managing Director to completion, track and follow-up on risks, accurately report progress against milestones to keep projects/initiatives on schedule while working with leaders across the People organization, other business units and various stakeholder groups within the Deloitte network
  • Execute on strategic and operational business transformation initiatives, by helping to operationalize innovative ideas across multiple domains including organizational design, change management, development of talent guidelines, business and operational strategy, and process improvement
  • Participate in cross-functional working groups to solve complex organizational and talent issues and develop solutions
  • Ensure the timely communication and flow of information among leadership and key stakeholders for projects/initiatives. Be an effective change agent utilizing proper stakeholder analysis and change management techniques
  • Work with the Managing Director to plan and organize business critical meetings, this includes setting the agenda and following up on action items

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone with:

 

  • 5-7+ years of experience in Human Capital or Strategy advisory or HR project management for a large, global, matrixed organization
  • Change management and workforce transformation, including implementation experience preferred, preferably on global projects/initiatives
  • Ability to be a problem-anticipator and work independently with minimum direction
  • Exceptional project manager, who is able to design and take initiatives from abstract to concrete
  • Able to manage competing, high-priority demands; prioritizing workload, managing projects and multiple responsibilities against strict deadlines
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills; Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
  • Advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook) to communicate complex information to a variety of stakeholders
