What will your typical day look like?

 

  • Process banking transactions
  • Complete month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing, including preparation of journal entries, account/variance analysis
  • Process vendor transactions
  • Contribute as needed to the areas of budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
  • Streamline accounting functions to ensure optimal productivity, efficiency, and accuracy
  • Support program delivery teams with financial management processes
  • Lead and coordinate team activities by effectively planning, prioritizing, and delegating tasks to ensure timely and high-quality execution of deliverables
  • Respond to payment inquiries 
  • Perform data analysis and prepare reports using tools such as Excel
  • Work closely with leaders to provide financial reports, support financial processes and participate in ad-hoc projects as required
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and innovation

Deloitte Claims is a fast-growing team within our Risk, Regulatory & Forensics practice. We manage class action settlements of all sizes across both private and public sectors.

 

We leverage some of the best-in-class technologies—cloud platforms, automation, data analytics, and secure digital communications—to streamline every step of the process. From intake and claims review to distribution and reporting, our tech-enabled approach brings speed, accuracy, and transparency to complex settlements.

 

We partner with litigators, in-house counsel, and courts from early case planning through final resolution, delivering expert guidance and operational precision at every stage.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

 

We are looking for a Manager to join our Claims practice to oversee the daily operations of the Claims accounting team. This team’s responsibilities include processing payments to claimants, reconciling bank accounts, managing vendor invoices, making funding requests and responding to payment-related inquiries.

 

Successful candidates for this position should have prior managerial experience, strong written and oral communication skills and a solid accounting/finance background. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, highly organized, have a hands-on approach, and possess the ability to thrive in a fast paced, matrixed and dynamic environment with competing priorities and stringent deadlines.

 

  • A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required, CPA or equivalent preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills required; data modelling skills are an asset
  • A good understanding of internal controls and segregation of duties
  • Banking industry experience is preferred
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships, establish trust, identify needs, customize solutions and motivate teams to drive operational and strategic priorities
  • Experience supervising and overseeing other people’s work
  • Experience preparing, reviewing and monitoring financial budgets
  • Ability to effectively present ideas and solutions in a logical and articulate manner with the ability to work effectively with and influence leadership
  • Demonstrated excellence in critical thinking, problem solving, communication (verbal and written) and analytical skills
  • Outstanding research, analytics, and quantitative aptitude
  • Superior attention to detail

The salary range for this position is $86,000 - $144,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
