What will your typical day look like?

You will assist regional and national leaders in achieving their Tax & Legal Quality & Risk (TQR) objectives. You will contribute to the TQR team by helping with the various initiatives and programs designed to support the Tax Practice:

This includes:

  • Tax Practice Compliance and Quality Reviews: collaborating with the TQR team members on the planning and execution of the compliance and quality review programs, including (i) selecting tax engagements for testing, (ii) enhancing the technologies used to perform the testing, (iii) reviewing the files for compliance with the different pillars of risk management, (iv) supporting tax technical subject matter specialists in reviewing the deliverables from a qualitative (accuracy) standpoint, (v) issuing reports to the Tax partners and Tax leadership with the findings and proposed recommendations for improvement, and (vi) developing dedicated annual risk training to enhance the Tax practice’s understanding of risk policies and procedures.
  • Tax Contracting: supporting the TQR Partner & Director with the review of standard and non-standard Tax contracts and the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) with contracts that cover multiple lines of service. This also includes the review of non-disclosure agreements and inter-firm understandings as between different Deloitte Member Firms.
  • Tax Practice Consultations: answering questions from the Tax practice received through the consultation inbox and developing quick reference guides for the Tax practice on the most commonly encountered risk queries. This includes supporting Tax teams in navigating potential conflicts of interest when Deloitte teams are on different sides of a transaction and developing risk mitigation strategies when third parties are involved on Tax engagements.
