Deloitte is looking for a Senior Specialist, National Events with proven expertise in managing corporate meetings and events. The ideal candidate will bring creativity and innovation to deliver outstanding event experiences for our people, clients, and communities.
What will your typical day look like?
As the Senior Specialist, National Events (Campus Recruitment) you will play a key role in supporting the National Talent Acquisition Team. Your primary focus will be the planning and execution of recruitment events, with a particular emphasis on campus and early talent initiatives. Responsibilities include end-to-end management of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, and management and execution sponsorship agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute event strategies that align with Talent Acquisition goals and objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of event communications, including promotion, social media, registration, and post-event reporting.
- Manage logistical elements of event planning, such as space booking, vendor contracting, food and beverage, audio-visual requirements, floor planning, and overall attendee experience.
- Coordinate virtual event production, including platform setup, broadcasting, speaker management, rehearsal scheduling, run-of-show creation, and live execution.
- Oversee event budgets, including cost projection, budget optimization, payment processing, and financial reconciliation.
- Manage sponsorships, including contract negotiation, execution, and ongoing relationship management, as well as oversight of the annual sponsorship budget.
- Ensure compliance with key firm policies and internal processes, working in collaboration with Finance, Procurement, Brand, Independence, Risk Management, and Legal teams.
- Lead project management activities, including resource planning, team leadership, facilitation of regular meetings, progress tracking, and preparation of presentations and status updates.
- Foster strategic relationships with business leaders, advising on event strategies and making recommendations based on national best practices and emerging trends.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness and adaptability in resolving event-related challenges and complexities.
About the team
As part of the National Events Team, you will contribute to the planning and execution of exceptional events across Canada, consistently aiming to inspire, excite, and engage our audiences.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
You are someone with these required skills, experience and qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in event planning, with a proven track record of managing high-impact events in various formats.
- Post-secondary education in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of the Events & meetings Industry and well-established professional relationships with suppliers across Canada.
- Previous experience managing sponsorships and supporting early talent acquisition initiatives is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate across teams and with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong client service mindset, with curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, execute onsite events, and travel as required.
It would be great for you to have some of these nice to have’s as well:
- Advanced digital literacy, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Proficiency with event management software (such as Cvent) and other event technology solutions used in talent acquisition (such as SAP SuccessFactors, Yello, Handshake) is an asset.
- Due to the nature of the role having interactions with National clients, bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $69,000 - $114,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
