What will your typical day look like?

 

Reporting to the Manager, National Orbis Events, the Senior Specialist, Events Experience will lead the planning and execution of high-profile events within our Toronto office while providing event planning support across our national portfolio.

 

As part of the National Orbis Events & Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping exceptional experiences within Deloitte's flagship offices across Canada. This is an opportunity for a seasoned event professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at building trusted relationships, and is passionate about delivering best-in-class experiences that inspire, connect, and engage.

 

The ideal candidate is someone who naturally steps into a leadership role, anticipates challenges before they arise, and confidently advises senior stakeholders on how to leverage events as a strategic business tool. They combine strong operational expertise with elevated hospitality standards and a passion for creating exceptional attendee experiences.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to market leaders, providing guidance and expertise on event strategy to achieve key business objectives.
  • Independently plan, manage, and execute high-impact events in various formats (in-person, virtual, and hybrid) for both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with internal leaders, offering recommendations on event best practices and industry trends.
  • Oversee all logistical aspects of event planning, including vendor contracting and management, online registration, food and beverage coordination, audio-visual production, and space setup.
  • Manage all creative and experiential components of events, such as décor, event design and entertainment.
  • Manage complex event requirements, such as hotel blocks, rooming lists, transportation planning, and attendee experience.
  • Coordinate meeting logistics, speaker selection and preparation (including dry runs), run-of-show creation, and day-of-event management.
  • Oversee virtual event production, including platform setup, broadcasting, and production management.
  • Provide support to members of the National Orbis Events Team, leveraging influence and expertise as a senior team member.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Signature Experience, People & Culture, IT, Workplace Services, and external suppliers to design and deliver successful events.
  • Administer all aspects of event budgets, including cost projections, payment processing, and reconciliation, in collaboration with Finance, Procurement, Independence, and Risk Management teams.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and adaptability in resolving event-related challenges and complexities.

The National Orbis Events & Operations Team, within CBS, is responsible for delivering distinctive Deloitte experiences and operational excellence across our flagship offices in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary. We are a team of strategic thinkers, hospitality professionals, and experience creators who believe every interaction matters.

 

We partner closely with business leaders, clients, internal teams, and suppliers to deliver events that advance strategic business objectives while creating memorable experiences that reflect the Deloitte brand. Our work extends beyond logistics. We are trusted advisors who bring creativity, innovation, and flawless execution to every event.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone with these required skills, experience and qualifications:   

  • 5-7+ years of progressive event management experience, preferably within a professional services, corporate, agency, hospitality, or large-scale event environment. 
  • Proven success leading complex, high-visibility events from strategy through execution. 
  • Strong executive presence and confidence working directly with senior leaders and stakeholders. 
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 
  • Experience producing in-person, hybrid, and virtual events. 
  • A customer-centric mindset with a passion for hospitality and experience design. 
  • Outstanding communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills. 
  • Strong negotiation skills and an established network of event suppliers and partners across Canada. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Cvent, and event technology platforms. 
  • A creative, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to remain calm and adaptable under pressure. 
  • A collaborative leadership style and willingness to support and mentor colleagues across the team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, attend onsite events, and travel as required.

 

It would be great for you to have some of these nice to have’s as well:

  • Due to the nature of the role having interactions with National clients, bilingualism in French and English is an asset for this position.

Total Rewards


The salary range for this position is $69,000 - $114,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
