Summary

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer – Production Management, you will design, deliver, and support business‑critical software solutions across complex, cross‑functional environments. This 1-Year fixed term role supports a multi‑year transformation focused on strengthening engineering standards, improving production resilience, and embedding modern Agile and DevOps practices.

You will operate as a senior technical contributor, applying strong expertise in cloud‑native technologies, Kubernetes, GitOps, and high‑availability systems to ensure reliable, scalable production services. The role requires end‑to‑end ownership, the ability to work effectively in regulated environments, and confidence in influencing teams and stakeholders to drive technical and cultural change.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Design, implement, and support highly available, scalable, and resilient production systems, leveraging modern containerisation and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Apply advanced engineering practices across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring integration of development, CI/CD, deployment, and operational support.
  • Drive Continuous Delivery and GitOps practices, including pipeline automation, Infrastructure‑as‑Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation), and configuration management solutions.
  • Operate and optimise services running at scale, including hyperscale and high‑availability systems, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Strengthen incident, problem, and root‑cause management practices, using strong analytical and debugging skills across networking, infrastructure, application, middleware, and database layers.
  • Improve operational excellence by implementing and maturing end‑to‑end observability solutions using industry‑standard tooling (e.g. Datadog, AppDynamics, Dynatrace).
  • Develop and operate services that rely on middleware technologies such as MQ and Apache Kafka to support reliable, event‑driven and distributed architectures.
  • Work effectively within global onshore, nearshore, and offshore delivery models, navigating matrix structures and collaborating across multiple teams and disciplines.
  • Deliver within a highly regulated environment, ensuring systems and processes meet regulatory and compliance requirements while maintaining engineering agility.
  • Embed and champion Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum and/or Kanban), ensuring alignment with broader organisational processes and delivery cadence.
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, transparency, and innovation, coaching team members and identifying anti‑patterns that are proactively addressed.
  • Communicate technical progress, risks, and delivery status clearly to senior stakeholders, contributing to short‑ and medium‑term planning of actions and resources.
