Senior Data Engineer

Summary

As an Azure Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-scale data integration, migration, and transformation solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies on 1-year fixed term. You will leverage Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL, and SSIS to build scalable, secure, and high-performing ETL/ELT pipelines that integrate data from diverse cloud and on-premises sources. Working closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and technical teams, you will help modernize data platforms, improve data accessibility, and ensure reliable, governed, and efficient data operations that support organizational decision-making and digital transformation initiatives. 

What will your typical day look like?

  • Design, develop, and support Azure Data Factory (ADF) data integration and ETL/ELT solutions.
  • Build reusable, parameterized, and scalable data pipelines.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation processes.
  • Integrate data from sources including Azure SQL, SQL Server, APIs, JSON, XML, Blob Storage, and Data Lake Storage.
  • Implement incremental loading strategies and performance optimization techniques.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance ADF pipelines to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, analysts, and developers to deliver data solutions.
  • Support legacy ETL modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps.
  • Apply Azure security best practices, including RBAC, Managed Identities, Service Principals, and Key Vault.
  • Create technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational procedures.
  • Provide production support and resolve data integration issues.
  • Contribute to data quality, performance optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL development, or data integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), including pipeline development, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Experience designing and supporting scalable ETL/ELT solutions.
  • Strong SQL skills, including queries, stored procedures, views, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with SSIS and modernization of legacy ETL solutions.
  • Experience integrating data from Azure SQL, SQL Server, APIs, JSON, XML, Blob Storage, and Data Lake Storage.
  • Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data integration best practices.
  • Experience implementing incremental data loading frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Knowledge of Azure security, including Managed Identities, Service Principals, and Key Vault.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience supporting production environments and ensuring data reliability.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics or Azure Databricks.
  • Experience delivering data migration and modernization initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery approaches.
  • Experience in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
  • Knowledge of data governance, master data management, and data quality practices.
  • Experience with monitoring and performance optimization of Azure data services.
  • Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate or related certification.
  • Experience supporting analytics, reporting, and BI solutions.
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated deployments.
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture and modern data platforms.

Total Rewards


The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $138,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
