What will your typical day look like?

 

As a Senior Consultant specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Procurement, you will be part of our Deal Transformation & Post Merger Integration Team (DT&PMI) team. You will directly support our project managers, playing a pivotal role in advising clients through the end-to-end M&A lifecycle, with a focus on procurement strategy, due diligence, synergy identification, value creation, and post-merger integration. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions that drive value, cost efficiencies, and operational excellence.


Typically, Senior Consultants are responsible for a workstream, ensuring that the results committed to our clients are delivered on- time. They will support deliverables to achieve results are executed on time, are within budget and are of impeccable quality.


Travel: When engaged in client site-based work expect up to 100%, otherwise a hybrid work environment that includes client, office and home.


Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead and support M&A projects, including procurement due diligence, synergy assessments, integration / separation planning and execution.
  • Analyze procurement operations, identify cost-saving opportunities, and develop strategies to optimize sourcing and supplier management in the context of M&A and value creation.
  • Work with clients to design and implement procurement operating models, processes, and policies post-transaction.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.
  • Develop and present findings, recommendations, and implementation plans to client stakeholders, including C-suite executives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams across different functions (e.g., Finance, Operations, Technology) to ensure comprehensive client solutions to M&A activity and cost transformation.
  • Manage project workstreams, mentor junior team members, and contribute to business development activities.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and leading practices in M&A and procurement.

About the team

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, ambitious, results oriented individual to make a significant contribution to our dynamic and growing DT&PMI. Situated within Strategy, Risk and Transactions (SRT), Mergers & Acquisitions, our team plays a pivotal role as clients transform their businesses. This includes both deal activity as well as Enterprise Profitability work outside of deals. You will focus your efforts on executing engagements around M&A execution and cost reduction projects, bringing procurement expertise to all stages of the deal lifecycle and cost optimization initiatives. An ideal candidate will want to combine their operational management consulting skills with our proven approach and methodologies to drive results for our clients.

In this role, the expected qualifications are:

 

  •  Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA or relevant Master’s desired
  •  Minimum 3 years of work experience in M&A, procurement, or operations management consulting; desired candidates will have a combination of M&A and procurement or procurement and management consulting experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in procurement strategy, sourcing, supplier management, and/or post-merger integration
  • Knowledgeable in both financial and operational metrics.
  • Ability to travel to client sites and offices across Canada and at times the US as required.  
  • Exceptional client relationship skills.
  • Desire and comfort to work directly with cients at all management levels on a daily basis.
  • High level of energy, persistence, and strong desire to achieve results.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (in particular Excel and PowerPoint).

Total Rewards


The salary range for the Senior Consultant is $84,000 - $126,000 and for the Manager is $101,000 - $169,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
