What will your typical day look like?
As a Sales Associate, you’ll be at the heart of ElectrifiedGrid’s growth story—building connections with utility leaders, uncovering new market opportunities, and shaping our go-to-market approach. You’ll collaborate closely with sales, technical, and marketing teams to deliver compelling presentations, craft tailored proposals, and support strategic deals. Representing ElectrifiedGrid at industry events, you’ll gather insights and champion our solutions. You’ll also track progress in our CRM, prepare reports for leadership, and share client feedback to drive continuous improvement. This role offers opportunities to expand your skills, network, and impact, with occasional travel both domestically and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Development
- Develop a deep understanding of utility grid planning processes and how ElectrifiedGrid enhances these for stakeholders.
- Research local energy markets and proactively identify key distribution utilities, regional system operators, and policymakers to support go-to-market and sales strategies with the Regional Sales Manager
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision makers and influencers at target organizations.
- Represent ElectrifiedGrid at industry events and conferences, preparing and delivering product demos and presentations focused on ElectrifiedGrid’s strategic benefits for grid planning.
- Sales Execution
- Effectively articulate ElectrifiedGrid’s strategic value to senior utility stakeholders.
- Screen inbound leads and proposal opportunities for fit, document findings and recommend next steps to the Regional Sales Manager
- Collaborate with technical sales and customer success teams to prepare customized proposals, presentations, and RFP responses to potential clients
- Assist the Regional Sales Manager and technical sales team in preparing for multi-stakeholder sales cycles, including background research, materials preparation, and logistics for meetings and demos
- Internal Collaboration and Reporting
- Collaborate closely with Marketing to align messaging and campaigns to regional and account leaders, and with technical sales and customer success to accurately communicate product capabilities
- Maintain accurate records of all interactions, opportunities, and sales stages in the company's CRM system
- Prepare weekly reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and key account developments for Growth and Revenue team leadership, highlighting progress, risks, and next steps to advance the sales funnel
- Gather and document feedback from client interactions to inform product enhancements, marketing strategies, and sales process improvements to share with the broader team
About the team
ElectrifiedGrid is a SaaS electric infrastructure planning tool built by Deloitte and utility partners around the world that combines a digital twin of a power grid with geospatially detailed technology adoption and load forecast modelling to assess the impacts of emerging electro-technology loads on electricity infrastructure.
ElectrifiedGrid has been successfully implemented by utilities globally and is actively helping utilities, governments, and regulators understand geospatial demand changes, forecast new electro-technologies, conduct integrated system planning, and enhance rate case filings and investments.
The team reports to Wonder, Deloitte Canada’s internal venture studio, as well as Deloitte’s Belgian member firm.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
You are someone with these required skills, experience & qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of sales strategy experience in a large, multinational organization
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing local and global sales strategies
- A highly collaborative management style with strong interpersonal skills to lead, influence, and engage others while fostering relationships across internal and external stakeholders
- Highly motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with the ability to act as an innovator to drive change and implement new ways for working and thinking to improve current business practices/processes
- Demonstrated record of high-business impact, strong negotiation skills, and sound diplomatic skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)
It would be great for you to have some of these nice to haves as well:
- CRM software experience is an asset
- Utilities sector knowledge is strongly preferred
Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $68,000 - $102,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
