What will your typical day look like?

 

The Resource Manager (RM) is responsible for executing on all staffing processes, liaising and providing advisory support on client requests, to ensure optimum project matches are made and productivity goals are achieved. This requires critical thinking and plenty of creative problem solving, as each staffing decision must be made in consideration of the business, project and practitioner needs. You will build lasting relationships with your offering leadership team and practitioners and contribute to the growth and development of the practice. The Resource Manager role is a National role aligned to a specific business offering.  

 

You will also have the opportunity to participate in key firm-wide and RM team initiatives with a focus on process excellence, operational efficiency, and client service satisfaction. About the team

 

As a member of the National Resource Management Team, and supporting Deloitte's Operate practice, you will be responsible for executing the resource management strategy both in our regional and national offices. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective planning of practitioners for each engagement. The results obtained will contribute to successfully meeting and/or exceeding business targets and expected results.

The Resource Manager will:

 

  • Optimize utilization across the assigned Offering(s) by making strategic staffing recommendations and decisions
  • Understand client needs and negotiate where necessary. Be adaptable to varied client personalities and situations.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of practitioner interests and preferences and stay closely connected to them to stay abreast of personal circumstances and changes in these preferences
  • Proactively review and understand your staffing position to provide meaningful insights on trends, forecast, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern
  • Seek opportunities to contribute to the achievement of the business’ or the Firm’s initiatives, goals and/or priorities.  
  • Maintain a solid understanding of your offering pipeline, plan and forecast in order to manage available resources and minimize variances to forecast

 

You are someone who has: 

 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a resource management or project management preferably within a professional services environment.
  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma.
  • A passion for client service and focused achievement of business results.
  • Strong relationship building and conflict resolution skills with experience engaging leaders at all levels and partnering effectively with internal teams.
  • Strategic and innovative thinking skills with strong problem-solving and project management skills, including the ability to understand the financial impact of relevant options.
  • Ability to work and navigate effectively in a matrix organization/partnership structure.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with large teams
  • Skilled in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, charts etc.) and willing to embrace technology.

Total Rewards


The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $156,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
