What will your typical day look like?
Our ambition is to build best in class products that deliver value to our customers and businesses in a repeatable and scalable way and to be the thought leader for building and incubating Product within Deloitte. As a Nova Product Manager, you will be crucial in driving the success of a product within the Nova portfolio and help shape the future of a product-centric mindset for product-built businesses at Deloitte. You will be tasked to lead the cross-functional team that will build and navigating the product through the lifecycle and embody best practices to help us achieve our ambition.
Key responsibilities:
- Product Strategy: Responsible for defining the overall product strategy and vision in partnership with business leaders. This includes understanding the market, gathering customer insights (i.e. market research, competitor assessment, etc.), establishing the north star and identifying the opportunities for product improvement or expansion.
- Product Planning and Roadmapping: Responsible for creating and maintaining a product roadmap. This includes prioritizing features based on customer validation (direct from client, from business team, from Sales Enablement team client demos, etc.), setting release schedules, and aligning the product with business objectives. The Product Manager is responsible for ensuring the roadmap is communicated effectively to stakeholders, making sure the scope is defined/redefined and the trade-offs are clear when making pivots.
- Requirement Gathering and Analysis: Works closely with stakeholders, customers, and development teams to gather requirements and define product specifications. This involves understanding user needs, conducting market research, and analyzing data to make informed decisions. In addition, the Product Manager requires collaboration with UX designers and engineers to define clear product requirements and specifications.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Acts as a bridge between different teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales. They collaborate with these teams to ensure the product is delivered on time and meets customer expectations. They often provide guidance and support as well as help resolve conflicts or issues that may arise during the development process.
- Exercise Governance and Empower the Team: The PM is responsible for providing context to the team and empowering them so they aren’t required for every decision. They also need to drive Product Governance in the form of leading grooming/refinement workshops, leading the sprint demos and quarterly product review sessions. Roles and responsibilities must be clear across the scrum team to ensure a successful delivery.
- Scrum & Product Best Practices: Works with the scrum team to execute the shared vision. Outlines the plan to achieve success and owns the team backlog and fulfillment work. Is involved in day-to-day activities of the scrum team, serving the role of the Product Owner (Scrum Definition – not Deloitte definition). Adherence to scrum best practices and product management best practices to showcase consistency across Nova.
- Product Launch and Marketing: A product manager plays a key role in launching new products or features. They work closely with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies, positioning, pricing, and messaging (they don’t own it).
- Product Performance Monitoring: A product manager continuously monitors the performance of the product (i.e. user engagement, conversion rates, customer satisfaction, A/B testing, etc.), collects feedback, and analyzes data to identify areas for improvement. They use this information to make data-driven decisions and iterate on the product strategy (works with Prod Ops Mgr).
About the team
The Deloitte Nova group serves as our proprietary software product organization here at Deloitte. We oversee and nurture a portfolio of client-centric software products. Our portfolio encompasses SaaS, on-premise, and in-cloud products, tailored to our diverse clientele and subject to a cyclical product development life cycle.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
Required Skills:
- 3-5 years of product management experience. (doesn’t have to be 3-5, can be more than 5 but not less than 3)
- Proven self-starter with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, drive results and champion a project from conception through implementation and evaluation.
- Experience developing and managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to demonstrate analytical skills, comfortable with analyzing data to draw insights to inform business strategy.
- Attention to detail and unrelenting focus on quality.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; emphasis on proposal development and the creation/delivery of effective presentations
- Proven ability to lead change and set priorities, with capacity to be flexible and adapt with new opportunities.
- Strong team player with proven ability to build relationships to accomplish goals.
- Experience in Jira or Rally is a must
Nice to Have:
- Scrum Product Owner / Product Manger certification is an asset.
Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $156,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
